quick steps for detailing question

Hey guys,

I washed, clayed, polished and waxed my car 2 weeks ago. I used Meguiar's #7 show car glaze polish and then #26 Hi Tech Yellow Wax. My car looked very good!

Question:

When I feel my car is getting dirty again after a couple weeks, do I just use a good car wash shampoo so that the wax will remain? When the wax starts to fade do I just shampoo and rewax or do I have to use the polish again and then the wax? I want to try the NXT wax soon also.

When I wash my car I don't mind using towels to dry it so that I don't have to use quick detailing spray. I washed it today with some ZIP shampoo (I know...all I had), and the paint still felt smooth (not as much as just after waxing), so I should rewax soon. But I don't know the exact steps to go through as listed in my question above.

Thanks a bunch.

Gold, find a good car wash, like gold class or NXT wash, there very good and will provide additional protection for the surface. After drying or even during,, you can spritz with a QD, I like Eagle Ones Wax as U dry. It adds Carnauba to the surface, and additional slickness. I hope your using waffle weaves to dry? With any Carnauba wax, you should apply once every 3-4 weeks to ensure constant protection, with NXt every 4-6 weeks would be great !

I use terry towels to dry, then finish with microfiber.

With the Meguiars, do I need to re-polish or is that unnecessary? I may look in to the quick detailing spray, I just don't know how or when to use it. Just looking for a good wet shine.

Gold, you only need to repolish when your not happy with the shine or cleanliness of the paint. Waxes and sealants really dont do a lot for the appearance, there protectants. So if you need to spice up the appearance, your going to have to polish, then seal. Seriously consider using the QD, it will prolong the sealant durability, deter bird bomb damage, sap adhesion, etc....Only use it to refresh, not as a wash replacement, and you HAVE to use a microfiber with it....
Also, seriously consider swapping over to waffle weave drying towels for drying, makes a huge difference.....
