Great price for a new item and as previously mentioned, you now need the accessories for it i.e. pads, backing plate, MF towels and the necessary products to start your detailing experience.

I am thinking of getting the PC to make my detailing job a little bit easier. My question is; while I know how to use it to apply wax, can it also be used to remove the wax after it's applied? If so, what pad would I use for that?

I think you mean buffing, right? I would recommend using a MF bonnet. I prefer hand buffing, but I do have them just in case.

Id be excited if someone could recommend an entire system for fixing swirls, polishing, waxing, and protecting for me. I need to buy a buffer, pads, waxes..etc and want to be able to finish before the winter... thanks! Id like to try and keep total price between $200 - $400. thanks!

Tim, check the online detailing sites. Here are couple of links for you to check out. Autogeek, Autopia, Detail City, Top of the Line, Superior Car Care, Exceldetail and Proper Auto Care. Compare the packages and see what's right for you. Another option would be to purchase a PC at Lowe's for $119 and put together a pad kit from one of the above sites. Lots of options available......

i have done that, but would rather buy something that at least someone else has used and can tell me that it works or not... i appreciate the response! I was looking at the $300 pc package with all the pads and waxes..

Well many of us have used those pads, just from different distributors. I mean for $300 you can get the PC and every availiable pad there is. Your talking about the PC, there are many users of this machine on the board and it is the most trusted piece of equipment for the novice and professional detailer alike. Just get it and believe me you'll love it.

IMO, I don't think there's one specific or exclusive package for products. Many here on the forum use an assortment of products dependent on what they're trying to achieve. Just off the top of my head, here are some manufacturers mentioned in threads.
Polishes: Poorboys, Four Star, Optimum, Menzerna, Megs, Mothers, P21S, Clearkote
Sealants (Polymers): Four Star, Poorboys, Klasse, Duragloss, Megs, Mothers, Zaino, Clearkote
Waxes: Poorboys, P21S/S100, Megs,
QD/ID: Four Star, Duragloss, Poorboys, Zaino

I've found Dewalt's orbital is more durable. It has adjustable speed, pads tear off and gives you a better grip. The Dewalt cost around $40 more.
