Polishing a repainted car?

So my grandparents have a 94 camry that they had repainted like 3 years ago and have been askin me lately if i could make it shine up some more.

I just got my udm and stuff, but should i be cautious since it was re-sprayed? I think it was a cheap maaco job.

Any advise would be great

"Normally" you will find clear coats a little heavier allowing for good polishing. Not sure if your grandparents got a single stage or multi...

good call with the white pad...and a good time to try out your udm before you get started on your car....

It should have a thicker clear coat than OEM but I could be wrong. There really isn't anything to worry about with repaints unless the repaint was a very shoddy job.
