Question Permanent wiper streak on windshield

I have a permanent streak from the wiper blade on the driver's side, that I have tried everything to get off. I used a razor blade with Glass cleaner , used fine steel wool 0000 with glass cleaner, used rubbing alcohol, nothing has taken it off. It follows the exact line of the wiper and is 3" wide, faint, but enough to bother you when driving.

I have run my nail over it, to see if it is a permanent scratch and cannot tell if it is a scratch or not. I'm about to bring it into the glass shop or windshield shop. So before I get charged lots of cash, I'm turning to acurazine first.

How would this happen, its only the wiper refill that touches the window, I don't believe it is a scratch

we can only take your word for it.

without providing pictures or a video of you washing it off, we can only assume that if it doesnt come off, then its a scratch.

I replaced the driver's side wiper blade to be sure that wasn't it as well. There must be a glass compound I can use to try to buff out the scratch. Maybe something like this?

Duragloss has a product call NuGlass and its a glass polish used for heard water spots and other problems. Its cheap... use a cheap foam wax applicator to polish it and rub in tight circles .. let it dry and wipe off. Car Quest and other outlets sell it.

There are glass polishes out there but it is usually recommend to be machine applied.
