PC Noob Needs Pads
So I picked up a PC from the lowes sale, now I need to get some pads. I don't really know anything about pads so I figured I would ask everyone here.
My detailing mostly consists of cars in pretty good shape that are waxed at least once a year. I usually use Klasse AIO and then SG and top with a nuba. If the car is bad, i will often use some paint cleaners/polish before all that, but I don't need anything to abrasive. What should I get? And I am a cheap college student so im not looking to drop big $$ on this stuff. And any ideas when there is gonna be a sale somewhere?

I would suggest visiting Exceldetail who by the way is an authorized vendor. He has some pad kits that should meet your needs. You should drop him a PM explaining what you need for your particular situation. My
FWIW; for a first time user, I would suggest Optimum Polish and Final Polishing Kit.

for pads, you will want to get at least 2 of each of the following: orange light cutting pad, white polishing pad, and grey wax/application pad. this used in succession, will remove the marring, if any, of the pad before it. you want two of each because you dont want to find yourself with a gunked up pad in the middle of a detail. after use, you can just use a cleaner and wash them up like brand new.
i know you didnt ask, but i suggest the XMT line for polishes over klasse. it has not only 3 stages of polishes (1-3 in ascending abrasiveness), but it's also designed for use with the PC. likewise, I have found it to be the least expensive of most of the polishes out there. i always get my supply at autogeek, but you can find it almost anywhere now because its gaining popularity is due to its effectiveness, for it just came out less than a year ago.
good luck, let us know what you decide.

There are several pad manufacturers and they all perform as advertised. Most of us use Lake Country which seems to be the most popular and commonly found. Then there's Edge Pads and also Megs. I've used Propel Pads and now ExcelErasure pads from Exceldetail. Also note, the condition of your paint will usually dictate what pads you choose.

So would the "Erasure 6.5'' Polishing Kit" from excel be a good choice?
"Why purchase what you dont need? We use Orange for light cutting/medium swirl removal, White for light polishing, and include a Green for sealants. Everything you need, and nothing you don't need! Oh, add 10% savings!"
for $25.49

And is the polishing kit 1 orange 1 green and 1 white?

ok few more questions.
About how long is the 303 32 oz back orderd for?
And what grade pads would you recomend for Klasse AIO and SG. I will probably occassionally add some Paint Cleaner first if the paint is bad, what should I use for that? I am planning on getting the pad kit and picking up a few extra pads of the grades that I am going to use alot.
And isn't the acurazine code 10% off, I am only getting 5?
Thanks!

303 should arrive about this time next week. AIO wouldnt need anything stiffer then a Blue pad, being as it has NO ABRASIVES and IS NOT CAPABLE OF SWIRL REMOVAL.. AIO is a paint cleaner/protectant. Green or black pad for the SG, IF THATS THE ROUTE YOU WANT TO GO....As for discounts, Acuraziners are entitled to a 10% discount on NON Discounted items. Anything in kit form is already reduced 10%. You may find some Duragloss items excluded due to them being at rock dirt prices to begin with (I dont know how Duragloss does it, really)

You may want to order 1-2 extra pads just in case. I just got 3 pads in a kit and wished I had dropped the extra $10-20 for less of a headache.
Excel recommends having 2 of your most frequently used pads in case you want to switch products or whatever.
