Pads n00b question
So I recruited my best friend who is a rotary user, and he helped me learn how to handle my PC and I learned on my GF's car because the paint is in bad shape. Came out OK, but here's my question, I bought my PC off a member on here, and it came with some terry cloth pad covers like you would use on a rotary, so I went out and bought some more, however I'm confused since they don't really seem like they belong on the pads for the PC even though I got the right size, I mean they fit but they kind of bend the pad. In reading lots on this forum, you guys always refer to the pads and the cleaning of them, but I've never seen any mention of the cloths. Do you guys use terry or mf cloths over your pads or do you apply and remove wax with the pads themselves? I'm looking to buy a set of pads from excel's site, and I don't see the cloth covers, so I'm assuming taht I don't need to use them? If not, do I use the same pad to apply and remove the wax? Your help is appreciated, sorry for the long question.
the bonnets are usually just used to remove the product after you used to the pad...i dont use any terry cloth or microfibre bonnets...i just use microfibre clothes to remove product and residue from polishing and applying sealant or waxes...

So you remove the products by hand with an mf towel? With a rotory you always remove with bonnets as far as I knew. So you apply the wax or sealant right to the pad then?
I only polish with the PC and pads .. remove polish with a MF.
Waxes and sealants I apply / remove by hand with a MF. I found no benifit to apply/remove waxes / sealants with a PC it ises too much product and you still have to do all the small areas by hand.
The only things I applied with a PC was ColorX and PoliSeal.
you can apply liquid wax or sealant by machine. you can do it with paste wax also but it probably be easier by hand.
you remove product with a MF bonnet just for convience. theres no difference between hand removal and machine removal.
kinda wierd though that its bending the pad, i thought bonnets had a let bit of room to spare

It was the MF bonnet that bent the pad, the cloth terry ones had a bit of slack. But you guys are saying not to use them at all? If I wanted to remove the product with the machine would it be wise to use a bonnet for those?

Product? what specifically are you talking about .. Brand / type etc.
I would remove waxes/sealants/polishes all by hand.
You certainly dont want an orbital buffer removing dead abrasives on a non lubricated surface. Thats an invitation to a swirloramma......
