Pad thickness. Does size matter?

Im about to place an order with a different foam pad manufacturer and am wondering what you guys would prefer :
1.25" thickness vs. 1".
Ive used the 1.25" pads for nearly 10 years, but have recently been testing 1" pads. I wasnt very fond of them several years ago, but that may have been because I was so accustomed to 1.25".And.....well....they are easier to clean and are providing ample cushion. So if I can get the same compound of pads slightly cheaper, and the manufacturer is closer to me, its a win win for me. Less time out of stock for you, and maybe a price reduction? Wutchyallsay?
