Pad question for Griot's 6" R/O

Finally made the plunge & picked up a Griot's R/O,(BJ's 95$ shipped) but need to order pads, polish, sealant, etc. Want some advice on whether I should stick with pads for the 6" backing plate that came with it or get a 5" meg's backing plate & 5.5" foam pads. Which would be more useful & will the meg's backing plate fit on this polisher?

I use the 6" on my Griots with LC Pads. My friend bought the Megs DA and he complained his backing plate would not hold the pads on it to save its' life. He has since removed the megs backing plate and installed a 3M which he likes. I'm sure alot of the more experienced people will weigh in on this.

I have the PC and the Griots and prefer the 5.5" pads for both.

Better correction and more control.

thanks for your guys' reach input. How do you polish out the areas you can't reach with the machine - smaller backing plate & pads or just do the rest by hand ?

3" backing plate + 3" pads, hand-held 3" pads or microfiber towels.

What AZuser said. I definitely would not buy the Griot's 3" spot polisher though. I find it stops spinning when I put pressure on it and lacks any real power to do correction.

I love my Griots....personally haven't used the PC so I can't personally say if it's better or not.
