order of washing and waxing

Ok,
so i've been browsing in this section for a while now and i still have a question about which order to do everything in. I want to get a really nice shine to my car

First i'm going to just rinse the car down and wash the car. I use Mr. Clean car wash cleaner.

After it's dry i will use a clay bar to get all the little particles off my car. ( i still need to buy one, i hear that Mother's makes a good one

Then do i use a Quick detailer ( I hear Zymol is good)

Then i use the wax, I have the Meguiar's NXT high tech

I want to achieve the wet look

Thanx

you're close. instead of washing and drying and then claying, just clay as you are washing the car. use the soap as a lube and it will slice your time in half. mothers makes a nice clay but i feel that clay magic has much better pulling power. i find that mothers is too soft and takes much longer to achive the disired results. after your claying you can now dry and pull the car in the garage for polishing and waxing. if you dont want to polish or dont yet own a Porter Cable you can skip right to wax. if your sticking with NXT you can use your quick detailer and spritz a little on your applicator. this reduces the friction and helps the NXT to spread more evenly. then when your finished with the final removal of your NXT you can go over the car with your QD to enhance the shine.

if you dont want to polish
Keep in mind, its not going to get prettier with just wax.......The depth and brilliance come from proper polishing.......
Good idea "seasoning" the applicator prior/while applying product, works well for polishes also.......by hand or PC.

Andy, there are numerous threads on this ... This is my routine: 1. Wash 2. Clay, then rewash 3. Polish/Seal 4. Wax. I do not use a quick detailer during this process and usually use this type of product for a middle of the week thing. Check out Autopia for some really good tips and you can download this free
