Orange peel paint: fixable?
My '09 TSX has a pretty noticeable orange peel effect in its paint. Is there any way to correct this?
Mostly curious is there's an easy or semi-easy fix - it doesn't bother me too much, and if it's permanent, I'll deal.

sounds correct. But make sure you check the depth of the clearcoat or paint. You dont want to go down too far. But i would maybe try some 2000 grit and work up to 2500 or 3000, but remember you have to be able to buff it out after. If you go too deep you will be in trouble. Post up some pics so we can get a better assessment.

I've been lurking these forums for months, but finally decided I had to join in
DO NOT WETSAND A FACTORY ORANGE PEEL
The paint is not thick enough to take it
Even if it is thick enough, you are practically removing that expensive clearcoat you just paid for
Learn to live with it, most new cars tend to have a fair amount of orange peel
If you have further questions, don't ask these newbies in this forum

As for everything else, I'll let the others rip you on it.

Body shops can also match the orange peel so not sure that it'll work for dealerships to determine damage to their leased cars.

Hey shenangianz....I was on autopia and left because I couldn't get anybody to answer any of my questions. I also couldn't help but notice that the whole place has a very superior and elitist attitude about it. I logged out in August of last year, haven't been back since and have no plans to return.

funny how the dealership would notice orange peel.
i had a salesman wipe dust off a car with his bare hands, and he said "look at that metallic paint shine". There was no way i was buying that car when it needed immediate polishing done to the paint.
I have also seen dealerships reduce prices because they burn through the clear coat when the polished the vehicles

Unless your new car is a show car. I do not see the point in removing orange peel. I'd much rather have as much factory clear coat as possible to deal with future pending scratch removals.
BTW if you do decide to do it regardless, I'd leave it to pros. Wetsanding is not something you wanna try if you have no experience.
