Optimum Polish vs. Megs M105/M205... need advice!

Hey guys,

I REALLY need to order some decent polish, and I was debating between the Optimum line, or Megs M105/M205. They both seem to be good stuff, but I was wondering which one would be easier to work with being a novice at this detailing stuff? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

With your key word of novice, i would have to say the Optimum line. The 105 can bite ya in the ass if your not careful, but it/they are an awesome product.

Thanks guys! I'm planning on order some from Patrick, but I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't missing out on something great with Megs....

Anyway, for a new detailer, would I want ot pick up some Optimum Compound too, or just the Optium II?

Hey guys!

I'm going to order some Optimum II from Pat at Exceldetail... Do I need to just order the Opt II, or do I need some other polish and compound to use before and after the OPT II?

Also, I have the Megs Soft Buff pads - can I just use the W8006 pad with the Opt II, or do I really need to order some other pads?

Lastly, does the OPT II really create NO dust? That's really nice...

Thanks much guys!

I would just order the sample size of all of them, just to get a feel, they don't cost much.

You could use the 8006 pad, no problem, but the pads that Pat offers are great, and would be a good investment...orange, white, and black or blue..

Whats the difference between the orange pad that Pat sells vs. Megs Soft buff pads?

Also, can I just polish the car with OPT II? Will this remove swirls and leave the paint LSP ready?

if your gonna order from him you might as well order the pads from him too. Pick up a red white and orange at least. Opt polish and Opt Compound. you could LSP after compound or polish just depends if your happy with the results you achieve. Just make sure you do a 50/50 Alcohol wipe to remove oils that may hide some tiny imperfections and it allow for a clean surface for the LSP to bond to
