Post #4. There isn't much on the subject anywhere, but it would be interesting to try out.

so i didnt try any advanced techniques and i am a pretty huge novice but in comparison to the nxt paste i usually use it was flaky like a mother f***er and made a powdery mess when removing.

i think it might be a side effect of leaving it on too long, but i am not positive. Afterwards the finish looked great, this was on a grey pretty new car though so the clearcoat and stuff is in great condition as is. If i had done it on my acura i could comment on whether or not hid some swirls but on this car i couldnt tell.

overall though, i am very satisfied with my purchase because the box it came in was very nice

the ice-water technique can go to hell with this weather. Ill give it a whirl in a month or two at this rate

Used the Optimum Hyper Spray Polish this past saturday. By far the easiest polish I've ever used. It dod a great job, and best of all...no dusting on removal.

Also used the FK 2180 sealant. I found it a little difficult to put on. Anyone else find this?

got the california car duster: pretty awesome, but does leave shit behind if you are lazy and dont give it a vigorous dusting. Pretty perfect for that overnight dust layer that you are worried about wiping away. I love it

Zymol long term: at first i wasnt impessed, but it has held up like a boss. My cars been rained on twice and hasnt even needed a QD spritz. I found one or two dry water spots, that was the only evidence. I will be giving zymol cleanse/wax some more love in the future

Autoglym: even more impressed with this one, it has been going strong for many a week now, feels incredibly smooth to the touch still

NXT 2.0: put that shit on wheels and was very happy. Slightly glossier, oh so slightly. Dirt just slides off it now with a quick pass of any cloth, no need for wheel cleaner either. So far so great

Next up? Mothers clay bar (first time using clay) + NXT 2.0 on grigio paint topped off by Autoglym HD (i think the NXT for the paint topped by the everlasting HD is gonna be a winning combo for the dark color)

Wheel cleaner? I also use a dedicated mitt to get behind the spokes and such. I use Autoglym custom wheel cleaner.

Killer, be careful with the NXT. I have a darker coloured car as well, and it takes a bit of buffing to get that perfect finish, otherwise it looks a bit oily. Maybe go over it with a QD before putting on the AGHD?

I agree with you about NXT 2.0 on the wheels. My brakes dust like Mizouse masturbating, and so far it's held up far better than my last wax, Meg's Gold Class. I have to say though, I preferred Gold Class to NXT on the paint so far. Admittedly, I've only used it once so far.

Need to clay my car soon as well. Will probably be using ONR and Riccardo Blue.

your ride is black broski?

also, you are saying to give it a QD wipe after my initial pass with NXT right? I think im gonna let the NXT sit overnight and then QD in the morning to get all the dust off this way itll be clean and has time to cure

using gold class wash right now B)

Blacker than a mu'ufuga

It's actually more of a midnight blue with some flake. Called Graphite Pearl. Hard to describe, here's a pic:

That's what I would recommend. How long do you leave NXT on before buffing off? Or would you buff off in the morning then QD?

looks good. reminds me of volcano grey

Well i would buff off once it turns white like i usually would, but i would let it "cure" overnight before layering it with Autoglym. What i read on autopia is that since NXT is synthetic and will make the paint pop it works great on darker colors, autoglym also works well and it is a caranuba so it can be placed on top of NXT once it has time to "cure" and the caranuba will give the nxt underneath some longevity. I havent had a chance to try all this though cause the zymol on my car just wont die

btw i googled and other people mentioned streaking too, i used nxt about four times so far and havent had issues, but people said that if you get streaks then try using a bit less, and if that doesnt help you can get rid of the streaks with QD

I see you are getting to pick up some kids from grammar school. "FREE CANDY INSIDE!!" LOL!

Ah, I see. Interested to see how AGHD on top of NXT looks, both are available at our local Canadian Tire.

I wonder if if using 2.0 liquid as opposed to paste has something to do with the streaking, but both of us are using paste and it's working fine for you.

Post pics if the Zymol ever decides to go away

im using liquid NXT broski B) i think i misspoke before, my bad!

i will let you know how the combo goes whenever i try it. Im still amazed whenever i pass by the car in the garage...literally no sign of rain. I dont think ive experienced this cool-ness before. I though rain just fucks your shit up even if its waxed

Hey man i like free candy too. where is your van???

I think the wax sort of makes it a bit worse. I don't have the time nor willpower to wash/dry my car every time it rains. Of course, water beads on a waxed surface so unless you're driving on the highway the rain isn't going anywhere. Once the water dries, all the dirt from the rainwater is left behind. It's easy to take off with a simple wash, but still annoying.

Ever what happened to Ron A's van after he finished with it? Yeah.

I didn't find any of the hot rim cleaner so I got meguiars gold class wheel cleaner for $5 at target. It has no acid in it. I picked up a meguiars claybar kit but the quick wax was already broken. So I will return that sometime this week. Do you guys dress your tires up?

Have any of you used the new wax by them? Its "supposed" to be "better" then NXT. Its called ultimate liquid wax. http://www.amazon.com/Meguiars-G1821...3779970&sr=1-1

Since the weather is finally getting better I think I am going to pick up some more stuff for my car. I need something for the leather as the seat has black dye on it from my jacket. I want to get something for the dash/trim and I want a new wax. Besides that I need actual cleaning supplies "Microfiber/Wash Mitt/Brushes". I heard big lots has clearance stuff so I might give them a try tomorrow.

just used a clay bar for the first time
that was an experience. Made me realize my car was fucking filthy. Who knew.

Afterwards, i hit that n**** with some nxt topped off with autoglym HD. Berry satisfied with color and outcome

Be all that you can be.

well the cell pics suck, so ull have to take my word for it, its nice. I think the best benefit of doing this is that s always nxt2.0 looks great (stuff is awesome because its so cheap and easy to wax with and take off and works with wheels) and the autoglym leaves on a much better candy coat finish than the nxt does (im guessing this is because of caranuba vy synthetic)

Anynway, i have another car which is pretty much grigio as well so on tuesday depending on the weather or so im gonna give it the zymol 2step and see how the two finishes compare side to side
