OFFICIAL Personal product experience Thread

I noticed that a lot of vendors create threads about the products they are selling but not many non vendors writing about the products they like and use. So I thought everyone (except vendors... sorry) could just write about the products they like or dislike and why.

* Mods if there is a thread similar to this please add my post to it, Thanks

I guess I will start. I bought Poorboys World Wheel Sealant ( pink paste jelly like) to help cure of me of my brake dust problem. I would normal use either armorall wheel protectant or Klasse AIO but, i felt like these would bake the dust on. So I applied about 3 very very light coats of it. It is actually fun to apply these because it smells like candy.

After 4 weeks after i applied it I have driven it every day for 3 weeks and then it sat for about a week. Yesterday I washed my car with ONR 2 bucket method with warm water. I cleaned the wheels with just the solution in a MF towel. In on pass everything was gone from the face of the wheel. I did not need to use the EZ brush for the nooks. I am very impressed by this product and best part it I barely used any of it.

Thanks for reading.

I tried washing my wheels with ONR as well, but I used just one bucket. Worked well for me as well, but I had a bit of trouble getting all the brake dust off my wheels.

Have you tried the QD presoak method?

Thanks for the review on Poorboys World Wheel Sealant. I was quite hesitant on picking it up but I'm convinced now.
I have quite a few products but haven't tried any of them yet since there is snow EVERYWHERE.

Good idea for a thread. Lets hear some other reviews fellow aziners!

Blackfire Wet Diamond (sealant) - I friggin' love this stuff. Slick as snot, beads like crazy and lasts a LONG time.

Meguiar's All-Purpose Cleaner - Diluted with water 4:1, I have to find anything that beats this for cleaning the really dirty parts of a car like the wheel arches and farings. A quick pre-soak and you can literally see the brown streaking off. My arches are a mess again thanks to the rain so next time I wash the car, I'll snap a pic (if I can remember).

Griot's Undercarriage Spray - A great follow-up to the APC...makes the black plastic arches and suspension bits look brand-new again.

I know im not getting rid of swirls, im just covering/filling everything up, but i really like the Turtle Ice products.

It works great for me (NBP) as it is fine on plastic (lights as well), chrome, etc. If it gets into cracks its not a big deal. For the person who maybe doesn't have the resources to invest into a proper buffer or detailing equip. - I think the stuffs good enough and looks awsome. I also like how it hides blemishes (i guess i'm leaving all my clear coat there too - so if i do get h-core, its all there for me to play with). I understand i am not detailing, but for me, the ice polish and spray wax fit the bill.
I always get the comment that my car is really "shiny" and how do you keep it like that.

I also have had lots of success with NuFinish's Scratch Dr. - took some marks off the neighorbors' cars and they were happy. When i had my wisdom teeth pulled some bird sh**t ate into the clear coat a bit, it took it off.

I like the Mothers all metal polish/mag cream. Works nice on my stainless mufflers and am going to use for my CAI this summer.

I'm going to clay my car in the spring and will probs use the 20$ Meguiars kit.

Also heard Meguiars spray NXT stuff is good.

Victoria Chaos/Mayhem wax combo, do Mayhem first then follow up with Chaos. No curing time in between and the look is incredible.
I topped it off with Victoria's Red Concour's the following day, now it looks like heaven! (Minus the minor swirls that is, lol)

I really like Wolfgang Fuzion Wax, if you search for the review done by sweetjazz it will give you a great breakdown of this great product.

i am looking for actual experience product combos for new BMW paint. Some (Portland) have mentioned it is very hard. I am coming from Acura paint which was the opposite.

I am looking for a pad/polish combo that is particularly effective on light scratches and swirls on dark blue BMW paint. Car is brand new but had Dealer Installed paint defects from their prep. PC will be used for polishing, no rotary.

Would prefer one step polishing, but will do 2 step if necessary.

I think I would try Optimum Hyper Polish Spray.....(And you dont have to rely on the sprayer either.)

"Incredible Multi Level Polish! A first in the industry, Optimum's new spray-able Hyper Polish not only reduces or eliminates moderate swirls, it can be used as a finishing polish as well! All the user needs to do is change the aggressiveness of the pads! Optimum's new Hyper Polish is completely compatible with a variety of foam or wool pads."

NXT 2.0 tech wax is amazing, I have p21s, and detail addicts full line of polish and sealants, and as hard as it is for me to say... NXT is pretty much the most amazing wax I have seen so far, again each "type of wax " gives a very different look and I am usually a huge fan of that deep wet look ( as carnubas will do) I.E. p21s and still am, however after seeing the type of look the NXT synthetic type of waxes give, I am stuck in the middle and simply love both looks..., the p21s will give you that deep wet look, but NXT being a syn wax gives you a very reflective, at multiple angles with a hard candy shell kind of shine... its hard to explain.... but check this out... I have been using p21s for a while and other wax/sealants...

The other day I picked up mcguires quick wax which is there snythetic type as well "comes in a black spray bottle" for waxing as I dry, and then I also sealed the car with the NXT 2.0 as I was buffing the car out with a MF towel I could INSTANTLY tell the diff.... since then I have been getting "compliments from strangers" and seeing people driving next to me staring and looking at the car which may have happened before, but now more then ever..... it has def given the car a very reflective OMG that thing is clean and mint looking kind of shine.... check it out you will love it.

My next endevor will be to use a quality paint cleaner to help clean, fill in very minor defects "swirls" here and there, and brighten the pain to help the flake in the paint POP, and then hit it with the NXT combo again... I am predicting this will yield amazing results.

Practice and Enjoy

I'm jealous you're even able to wash your car, let alone do a full detail on it

Call me in July.

I can't use carnuba in the summer because it never really sets up on a car when it's 110 degree. In the shade.

That's why I love me the Collinite 845IW in the Summer on top of a sealant.

Stogie - You may also want to check into Poorboys products. They are made to withstand direct sun applications and tend to work very well (IMO) in higher temperatures.

We don't get the AZ heat you get, but I've still detailed with it when the temperatures are in the high 90's and I've been very impressed.

Thanks Butler.

Application temp is less of an issue for me than the temp the product lives at while on the car between applications. I generally apply products in the garage, which I can cool off a bit if I need to. What I have no control over. though, is the surface temp of the car in a parking lot in the sun... Ouch.

My neighbors no longer notice...it's just the way I am and they're all used to it by now. I can always tell who doesn't know me because they'll stare when I'm out on a clear day with the temperature in the mid-30s. The last time I did that, it started to fall below freezing as I finished and the water froze to the roof before I could dry it off. So I went back inside, filled up a bucket with hot water and dumped it down the roof. Problem solved!

Pictars, before and after pleez.

Anybody have experience with AG's leather stuff? I've had good experience with their other products, and I know their HD wax is well regarded. Interested in picking up some of their Leather Cleaner.

I'll comment on the shampoo/wash I use.

Love this stuff. Nice and sudsy. A nice high concentration so you don't have to use much at all for just maintenance. Very nice lubricating qualities to it too.

Be very careful with the CG Citrus Wash, it's HIGHLY concentrated. Use too much and you can strip off any LSP you may have.I definitely use as directed on the bottle.

When I used it just for a regular wash, I used just the bottle cap full for a 2 gal bucket. My car was squeaky clean after.

I believe the directions say 1oz per 2 gallons for maintenance. For stripping, I believe it's 2oz per gallon.
