no more clear coat

no more clear coat

I have 97 Lx450. car doesnt have any clear coat left. How do i protect it? With sealant?

Did it like....peel off? Maybe its just oxidized single stage?

Pictures would be really helpful in determining if your clear has really left the building or (like Excel said) if it just oxidized single-stage paint.

on a related question: lets say you detail your car and remove the swirls. that takes of a bit of the clearcoat correct? after a number of these details wouldn't the clearcoat be gone?

But your talking about any many years of detailing. Just polishing a couple times a year isnt going to hurt anything!

clear coat

Car is white. when i touch my hand on the paint. My hand turn alittle white. hood and 2 fender have clear coat on it. car been sitting for 3-4 years. Anything i could do to save it or protect it?

This may sound silly but run to your local grocery/drug store and get some NuFinish and foam applicators. Give it a shot, cost ya like $15.00, try it on a panel, wipe clean with a microfiber, repeat and report back!
