Is this Newbie on the right track?

Just got my new 2006 NBP TL w/Nav less than a week ago and now I am worrying about how to keep it good looking for the long haul. I don't drive everyday and the car will mostly see weekend duty. I've been reading this forum as well as how-to's on autopia, proper-autocare and other sites. I just spent about $200 on products from a couple of on-line detailer sites, hope I did not go overboard as I was thinking maybe I should have just started with OTC stuff. I plan to wash every couple of weeks since I don't drive that much. Trying to clear room in the garage to see if I can squeeze my ride in there.

Here is the stuff I bought, let me know if I'm on the right track.
Got the following from exceldetail.com:
Excel Gold Kit which includes Monterey Waffle Weave MF towel, 2 Blue Supreme MF towels, 2, yellow Supreme MF towels and a lambskin mitt (don't know which one).
Excel Safe-T Scrub II just in case for the bug and bird poop.
Optimum Car Wax Spray
Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection (Polymer)
Excel Fine Grade Glay
Riptide 16x28 Waffle Weave Drying Towel
Nattys Blue Paste Wax
Pure Australian Heavy Sheepskin Washmit

Picked up the following from autogeek.com:
Stoner Tarminator
The Grit Guard
Stoner Invisible Glass Pump Spray
303 Aerospace Protectant
Klasse ALL-IN-ONE Polish
Meguiars NXT Generation Car Wash
3 Pack Blue Microfiber Pad
Pinnacle Foam Wax Applicator: Package of 3
Meguiars NXT Generation Speed Detailer

So heres the plan, let me know if it sounds right

1) Wash with Megs NXT Gen car wash using Heavy Lambskin Mitt from top to bottom using forward to back motions
2) Dry with Monterey WW and Riptide
3) Clay (If necessary)
4) Apply Klasse AIO as Pre-wax cleanser using Microfiber Pad and wipe off using MF Supreme Towel
5) Apply OCW on foam wax applicator and buff off using MF towel
6) Apply 4 Star UPP and wipe off with MF towel
7) Apply Meg's NXT Speed Detailer as QD and wipe off.
8) Apply Natty's Blue Paste Wax when I want that extra wet look.

Still need to get polish (don't know which one yet), leather cleaner/conditioner (thinking about Lexol) as well as Tire/Wheel Cleaner (thinking about BlackFire or Meg's) and a couple of buckets (one 3 1/2 Gal for the wash and one 5 gal to use with Grit Guard as a rinse bucket) from local HD/Lowes.

So am I missing anything or any steps?

You can probably skip the OCW since you are laying a polymer down, and the clay/AIO should be enough to not need a true abrasive polish, unless your dealership installed serious swirls in your new car.

Don't forget, take before and after pics to show us your handywork!

You can also skip the NXT Speed Deatailer, wait 12 hours and lay another coat of UPP. Then lay Nattys on top of the UPP. I would also suggest using OCW as monthly application to protect the inital protection layers. If you get a chance try DGAW after washes, spray on and then dry off.

Yea, ya got some choices to make. I prefer 2 (two) 5 gal buckets while washing.

We dont argue about much at all........Seriously, you guys are a great group of enthusiasts, who are no less serious about detailing then some of the most sick individuals I have met elsewhere. And the beauty about this forum is we all get along, dont bicker, bitch and moan.............

sounds good to me with the comments above. Make sure you are applying the UPP and NATTY's thin - THIN - VERY THIN or it might not be easy to take off. I was surprised by the small about of UPP it took to do the entire car ( I was using a PC - but still). I applied the Natty's a little think by hand and it wasn't fun to get off. Goodluck with things and post some pictures when you get done with it.

Thanks everybody. Looks like I bought some extra products I might not need or fully use. So if I don't use the Natty's Paste wax then I could just use the OCW? I haven't got the stuff yet, but I'll try to put what I learned here to the test.
