Need some help removing swirls!

Hey guys,

I am going to detail my Mom's 2003 Ford Escape Limited Monday. The SUV is a Metallic Blue. The paint on it looks terrible. There are swirls marks, and tons of little surface scratches. Right now, I currently have the Meguiars DA, and I have the W8006 pads, as well as the W9006 pads. I didn't purchase the W7006 pads, which I wish I would have. However, is there anyway that I can remove these swirls using the W8006 pads? I currently have stuff like Meguiars Scratch X, Kit's Scratch out, and things of that nature. Also, I purchased some Meguiars # 80, but I don't think that is for swirls. Is there anything that I purchase at say an Autozone that will remove these swirls? Also, which of the 8006 and 9006 pad could I use? I would think my best bet would be the 8006, but I'm not sure. Also, what speed would I want to use the DA on to remove these swirls? If someone could help me, that would be great.

Try #83 with W8006 pad. Spread polish at about 4, run your next couple passes at 5/6 and work the polish in till it breaks down. Wipe haze, inspect and repeat as required. Work a small area at a time preferably 2.5 x 2.5 ft square, for example the hood divvy it up into four working areas. Check out the
Paint Care & Detailing site for some videos and pictures.

ScratchX is better done by hand with a terry towel if you're working on small spots or areas. I would try Meg's SMR #9 with a med cutting pad and do seveal passes.
