Need opinion

Need opinion:

I first start out washing and claying the car.
The use a Fine-Cut Cleaner from meguire with a buffer.
then wash then follow up with Show Car glaze polisher
Then wash wax with NXT Gerneration Tech Wax , then wash, wax, and finally wash.

Was removing slight swirl mark that developed over the season from driving.
I do this twice a year, one at the beginning of fall, and one at beginning of spring.

Wash before you clay, then if you want after you clay; then your onto all your cleaners, polishes and what nott. No need to wash in between polishes. You may actually introduce damage that you just removed/corrected

You mention a wax ( see red above ) what is it?

Unless your doing these steps on different days no need for all the washing.

Too much washing!
Wash, clay, polish, wax (seal), wallah.........If you desire two coats, i would apply a second coat after your next wash.......

Ok that clears it up .. the way it was written it looked like the wax was a diffent wax then the NXT.

If you apply a second layer it will be nore for coverage cuz from what I understand NXT has cleaners in it and the second layer is going to remove a portion of the first.

from what the product discrption says, it's not a cleaner. i think you must be refering to the normal cleaner wax

I am very familiar with NXT .. I was one of the testers of it in Canada.

When it can remove some oxidization , and it does, it has cleaners in it.

Thats why its an OYC one step type product.

would it be ok to use the first gen nxt as a final product after some polish/swirl remover...

so my process would look like this...

wash
clay
polish..udm
nxt..udm

Don't see why not as long as they are polishes and not glazes.. NXT if fine ... just a rather short life for the first generation.... but hey .. its so easy to apply/remove you can do it every 2 weeks.

I don't apply NXT with a pc/udm.. takes too long .. faster by hand and us less and no pad to wash.

Pat, I was digging around the Megs forum and there were a couple of threads about NXT 2.0 but couldn't find a post explaining the differences between the two. I would assume it would still have the mild cleaners along with the New Hydrophobic Polymer Technology, incorporated into the new formula. The same thing used in their Ultimate Quick Detailer. It supposedly gives it a slicker and smoother surface. Nothing on durability, tho.

. . . provides relentless water beading and protection against oxidation, corrosion, UV rays and surface degradation.

Second layer won't hurt just for coverage purposes .. then the carnuba as long as it isn't a cleaner carnuba.

No comments on the Pinnacle cuz I have never used it but regarding the NXT it doesn't have abrasives and you have already done your cleaning with the Pinnacle so there is no real benifit mechanically.

You will just use more NXY .. still have the small noons and crahhys to do by hand and have a pad to wash.

JMHO.

No .. you can layer sealants and NXT is a sealant but it has cleaners in it so when you apply layer 2 of NXT your removing some of the first.. Carnubas can't be layered, you can put 10 coats of carnuba on and in the end you might have just a little more than 1 coat left ..

black car ... dewalt not sure of the model .. borrowed it from uncle. using a foam pad with the fine cut cleaner, then clean out foam pad aand resuse for the polish .. then a cotton pad to remove nxt wax (yes i know im lazy)

after the clean and polish, looks like swirls are gone. i was thinking maybe the cotton pad to remove wax is causing it but not sure.

maybe your foam pad doesnt offer any cut...i would try to get a fine-med cut pad...if the pad offers no cutting, then your fine polish is not going to do much in the cutting dept....

well i think i kinda solved the issue, seems on my car, the swirl was from the removal of wax with the buffer.

hope its the same with wife's car.
