vinegar works well to remove spots. If they dont come out, the car might need to be professionally polished, compounded, etc. Take a look at the wash and wax section and you'll see tons of info on how to properly wash and take care of your car.

When rinsing your car after washing, try to take the spray nozzle off of the hose and use the low pressure to do a "once over" your entire car. This will leave less spots.. be careful not to touch your car with the metal threads of the hose. You can then chami the car. It works for me. I do not have a black TL... I know that is the hardest color to maintain. Good luck.

#0000 steel wool will work safely on the windows if lubricated with lots of soapy water. My first choise would be white vinegar and its safe for both body & windows. Be patient and let the vinegar do the work especially on the paint and use a soft Microfiber towel to apply it.

Once all done rewax the car and then chnage your washing habits or where you park to prevent more.

Chammie, water blades and ShamWOWs are a no no for drying. Stick with a couple of waffle weave Microfiber drying towels.

Wash the car a couple panels at a time and rinse. Once all done take the nozzle off the hose and gently run a stream of water over the whole car .. this will pull 85% of the water off the car and also flood off any remaining grit.

Then take the first towel and hold it by 2 corners and just pull it over the horizontal surface then the verticals to pre dry the car . Then fold the second towel in 1/4s and dry the windows then horizintal then vertical surfaces. Drying like this takes no more than 5 minutes.

Good luck.

I had that problem before on my black subaru. what i did was using M3 rubbing compound step one. work it with a buffer in small section at time dont let it haze then wipe out right away. repeated do that for the whole car then go on to 3M rubbing compound step 2 once you finish, use detail spray or wax. it gonna be good as new. make sure you work it really good and not to over heat the pain. it work on me it might work on you. tip for you. wash your after sunset. that way you still have water on your car and quickly wipe all down. if it dry before you get to it you going to see water spot. detail or wax after that. i learn my listen not to park by any sprinkler or wash my car when it hot out. espcaily black ca you can see!!

This is what I got...

A water softener. Helped me a lot...and I often hose my car down w/o washing it when I'm in a rush. And no spots. Pricey but works.

You need this..

http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/s...629&recview=21

This weekend I washed my wife's and my car in the garage using a total of maybe 4 gals of water. No hose. And since the effect of the ONRW is to sheet the water.. when you dry (with a MF towel) there are no water spots at all. Yet another benefit of ONRW. If you haven't tried this I highly recommend it as do many others. Unless my car is horribly dirty I won't wash it the traditional way again. I hadn't washed either car in probably 2-3 months and they both were spotless. Then a quick touch up with UPP spray on and they look great.
