I've been reading through countless pages of threads regarding my decision for the correct polish, compounds/pad to use.

I have a NBP 2004 TL - purchased second hand so I have no history on the paint maintenance. I'd say I have an average amount of swirls with the occasional scratch. I've had the car professionally detailed last year however the swirls remain. I have since hand waxed the vehicle with Meguiars NXT with no change to the appearance of swirls.

I've never used a buffer before and would greatly appreciate your recommendations. I have decided to purchase a PC7424 and would like your opinion/suggestion for a beginner like me.

I can provide pics tomorrow if that would help.

Pics always help. Course pics arent going to remove the swirls, but it gives us all here a better understanding of what your up against.
Great idea on deciding to acquire the PC, thats a huge step in the right direction.
Heres about a 90%+ correction with a pass of Optimum Compound.
Is it anywhere near as bad as this?

I'm glad I waited, now I can buy the new PC 7424XP, my only dilemma I guess is which products to buy to start me off. I'm thinking the Optimum line would be my best bet but I'm still not sure exactly what I need. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
