1) Yep, should be fine as long as you don't use fabric softener when drying them. Actually, air drying is best for microfiber stuff.
2) They're really good at picking up lots of water so they would be good for drying. You could always hand wash. That's what I do with mine since I have one of every type of cleaner/application and tend to wash them separately anyways.

Yep, I recently discovered microfiber towels and they are great. I use them to dry and wiping down the interior because it doesn't leave lint. Mandatory with an ebony interior. I bought a ton of them at Costco.

I wouldn't wipe it down after the rain unless you just washed your car before it rained. Otherwise it's dirty and you're rubbing that dirt into the paint

So you think its better to let the dirt dry on the paint? Neither seems great solution, that's why I hope for no rain.

acid rain dried on paint is not very good if left for more than a few days. it will bake into the paint. if you let it dry on the paint , it should be washed off asap(advantage of a black car is spotting tells you where the dirt is)

Wow floridaowner,
It sounds like a whole lot of extra work to maintain a good looking Black TSX. I'm glad I got SSM.
BTW, I manually wash my microfiber towels in Dawn and let them air dry. So far so good.

and rubbing dirt into the paint to scratch it is better? Make sure you have enough layers of protection built up and you'll be all right.

you wont scratch the paint if you use microfiber towels- that is a one of the great things about them. They absorb virtually all of the rain. Any rain that dries on the paint you can wash off the following day etc. I have tried letting it dry and then washing- either way works and the bottome line is you should try cleaning the car after rainy days. Black is great in my opinion because it motivates you to keep the car clean. The other colors in the short run look great but the rain and other stuff gradually fade the finish on the other colors.
