Meguires vs. Mothers

I know there are several better cleaners/polishes and waxes than Mother's and Meguires but I don't feel like spending lots on mail ordered stuff plus it is tough to find the stuff in Canada.

I'm looking for a good shine which will last a long time.

Which 3 step system is better?
Mother's 3 Phase system or Meguires 3 step system?

Thanks

I use Meguire's 3 step system and it works great. I haven't tried Mother's so I can't compare the two.

AWESOME!! We've got another 3M Advocate (right on Closer!) Frankly I've seen 'um all (except for Zainos) and I can honestly say that 3M Car Care IS the BEST money can buy. You won't be disappointed! :p

I don't know if anyone has tried Malco Flash Wax or Harly Wax. (http://harlywax.com/HarlyWax/). They both work great. The Harly is a paste wax that is a bit more involved and the Flash is a liquid that several dealers use for prep waxes.

Anything you use that has natural Carnauba will not last as long as a synthetic product because of the lower melting point of Carnauba. Synthetic products like Klasse, Wolfgang, Meg's NXT, etc.. uses man made componets that bond to the finish on a molecular level and has a higher melting point.

I don't think you can go wrong with Mother's of Meg's but if you look at the 3-step system its -Clean- Polish-Protect. So you would first clean with a Paint Cleaner, then Polish the finish to bring out the shine and then seal that shine with a Wax.

If you're looking for longevity, a synthetic sealant/ wax beats natural Carnauba hands down. With the 3-step system, you would need to re-apply the Wax (Step 3) every few weeks since the Carnauba simply wears off the finish. A synthetic sealant would last for months and can be topped off with a natural Carnauba for added shine. Klasse All-in-One (AIO) cleans (uses chemical cleaners), polishes and protects in one step. I found that the application was the same if not easier than the 3-step system.

Also a Canada-based site like this one has prices comparable to U.S. based sites.
