Meguair's Ultimate Compound?

Meguair's Ultimate Compound?

Anyone with experience using this product?

I am looking for something to remove superficial scratches some minor fallout and etches in the paint of my RL. I understand this product will be stronger than usual polishes or cleaner wax, but still will not swirl the clearcoat?

Anyone who has used this product, I would appreciate your evaluation over a polish it's effectiveness and ease of use. Any drawbacks? I plan to use with a DA / orbital buffer.

nothing pro level. just an orbital 6'' palm held orbital I got from autogeek.

No experience .. reason I asked about the buffer is most that are less than a PC won't do the job no matter the polish.

dude, ultimate compound is for intense removal of swirls/scratches..
try using swirl x or scratch x!! it should do it

So you are suggesting using "swirl x or scratch x" on the entire car as a replacement for polisher like Meguair's Ultimate Compound?

Swirl X is for new paint and light stuff
Scratch X is for more aggressive stuff
and Ultimate Compound is even harder stuff

so i say try using swirl x before going to do more aggressive stuff....

yes, because it's to aggressive... and u have a new car.. so you dont have crazy swirls or scratches on your car..

I actually have all 3 products mentioned above - Swirl X, Scratch X 2.0, and Ultimate Compound. I can say that Ultimate Compound is definitely aggressive, and it WILL remove most scratches. I've had VERY good luck spot treating scratches with it. I apply it via a yellow Megs foam pad, and after an application or two, the scratch is gone. I've removed some pretty serious scratches with it that I thought would otherwise require wet sanding.

Anyway, if you do something like the whole hood, or even spot treat a scratch with the Ultimate Compound, you most likely will need to use a less aggressive polish afterwards to remove any haze that it creates. I've had great success using the Ultimate Compound followed up with the Swirl-X...

I went to meguiars class at the headquarters at irivine!!

and they said to start from the less to more if it requires it!!

I would agree with the advice to start with SwirlX. I've used it - it's a fabulous product.
