machine Polisher?
machine Polisher?
Is this a good machine polisher for a noob?
http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=92623
looks like a good price.
Reason i want to get a machine polisher is cause bout 2 weeks ago i decided to try and detail my car for the first time. i washed, clayed, then rewashed and then when i went to polish (by hand) it wasnt doing anything for the swirls and light scratches. so i just skipped it and waxed.
Also what kind of pads should i use?

...and make sure you have plenty of pads (3 orange, at least 4 white, and maybe a red or black) , also have patience getting to know what each polish/pad combo gives the best results for you. Always seal up after polishing. Be sure to check out Exceldetail and DetailedImage for products and info. Both are excellent vendors on here.
I would opt for the 5.5" pads as they provide better control and are actually easier on the machine. Just an all around better size when polishing.
If it was me...........
2 Orange
2 White
1 Black
1 Red
(1 yellow if $ permits)
Dont forget your discount as well!
You might want to consider the Danase line as they are on clearance as well! Could save some good cash! They are excellent polishes (Ive used them), not quite Optimum, but they are very adequate for most situations! And if your budget is limited, its a thought. Dont skimp on a sealant though! Highly suggest Four Star UPP or DG 105, Optimum Spray Wax or Glanz Wax......
