Looking for ACURA SPRAY CLEANER..

Hi,

Just went back from the dealership. I had the dashboard cleaned up for the white-ish looking spots.

Anyways, they told me that the following products that they are supposed to use (according to the September 2006 bulletin) were discontinued.

Honda PROTECTANT
08740-PC008 $4.18 $4.18
Honda CLEANER/POLISH
08C25-P011M $4.96 $4.96

I found them online on this site: http://www.boats.net/_search/cart.lasso

What do you guys think? Do you use these products too or use alternative products?

I bet there is a reason why they were discontinued. The dealer told me they werent environmentally safe...

Yeah, I've tried 303, but not quite happy with it..I was using Meg Gold Class Leather / Vinyl Protectatnt and it worked better than 303. At least in my case.

I am not sure which one Meg 40 is....but I wanna try something that actually cleans the whiteish spots and some scuffing marks, instead of just hides them. I expcect the Acura Spray Cleaner will perform better, since this was what they rec in the first place to use.

^^Made by Amrep Inc., Automotive Products Group.

I'm looking at an old can right now (08C25-P011M) and a new can. The new one is totally devoid of any Honda name or logos, whereas the old can reads Pro Honda. Everything else is the same, and the formula is identical. I've been using this stuff for several years on my bike and swear by it since being turned on to it by a motorcycle forum. I just wet wash it once in the Spring and use the spray cleaner for maintenance throughout the season.

I don't understand why Acura would recommend it for the interior of our cars though, since it's geared towards cleaning/shining metal and hard plastic, not anything really porous. I did happen to try it on my faded dash the other day and it did absolutely nothing. Works awesome as a bike "detailer in a can" though. It can be bought online at http://www.hondadirectlineofshadysid...1&ID=862232243 or any Honda dealer as well.

Over on the MC forums, everyone came to the conclusion that it's BS that the "new" version is any more environmentally safe, and that's why Honda took their name off the can.
