Lesser of two evils: local carwash or well water wash?

These are the only two options I have for keeping my '07 TSX clean. Sadly, a garage isn't an option, either, so washing is pretty important. The local carwash (Car Pool, for any of you in Central VA) isn't touchless.

What to do?

Optimum No Rinse Wash and Shine. It also helps balance out hard water.
Heres a "How To".

I've been using the above mentioned product for a couple years now with great results. No garage here either; I park on the city streets.

This wouldn't happen to be available at our local auto parts store, would it?

I've only seen it on the net.

Note: I don't have the well-water problem so can't really comment on that aspect; I've just been using it with regular water with great results.

I think I heard that well water is NOT good to use. It dulls paint over years of use. Not 100% on this though.

Fantastic product. I used it all thru the winter, and use it in the summer as a water softener to dry without leaving spots.

Its not the water dulling the paint its the minerals in the water that are left behind.

That makes sense, but to clarify...then it's not really a well water vs. municipal water issue, it's a hard water vs. soft water issue?

Generally one in the same. Municipalities have Federal guidelines they must follow regarding mineral contents in a citys water supply. NRWS helps soften the water. I can call the chemist who formulated NRWS for more specifics if you'd like.
Interesting thread, Im sure theres a few of us who would like to learn about this.
