Leather vs. Vinyl
Leather vs. Vinyl
I've heard many recommendations on using Meguire's, Zaino, and other brands of leather cleaners for the 3G TL seats. In one of the posts, it said that TL seats are not completely made of leather... part of it is either vinyl or vinyl like products.
So is it necessary to get a different product to clean the non-leather part of the seat or are the ones suggested above ok to use on the entire seat?

This was posted by TOGWT (JonM) and should answer your question (hopefully). For the interior (dash, vinyl) I would recomend Aerospace 303. As to what cleaning/conditioning product to use, that comes down to a personal choice. My preferred ones are Four Star & PB Leather Stuff.
Covered Leather (Urethane, Vinyl or MB-Tex):
Since late ‘80s early ‘90s 85% of vehicle manufacturers have used covered leather for their interior upholstery. It’s made from natural hides, but uniquely treated with a light pigmented urethane resin coating or a vinyl covering to make it more viable for automotive seating. It retains the softness of natural top-grain leather but resists fading in direct sunlight, leathers worst enemy
Spills wipe off with a moistened cloth, the urethane resin or the vinyl covering require oils to stop it from drying out (just like a paint system's clear coat) the leather also requires replacement of natural oils. Clean, condition and apply a UVR protection as in items 1, 2 & 3 on page 2.
Identifying characteristics- uniform color and grain patterns; will not scratch easily; water drops will not change color.
Recommended products-
•Urethane Coated Leather- use Groit's Leather Care or Zanio Z-10 Leather in a bottle
•Vinyl or MB-Tex Covered leather- use Groit's Leather Rejuvenator or Leatherique Prestine Clean
Note: Lexus LS430 and SC430 have uncoated leather. All Lexus made before the 2001-2004 revamp have coated leather. Mercedes-Benz have a Premium Leather Package (top grain hide, use Leatherique or Connolly Hide Care) coated leather and MB-Tex (Vinyl)
Note: Connolly Leather Hide Care, this product may not be compatible with covered leather and could damage the urethane.

i put 303 on everything, inc leather. when you move around in the seat it sounds like a fart, but better than slipping in the seats. hate it when a passenger breaks loose. smell is bad, but not as bad as a fart tho.
i dont want glossy or slick so 303 is for me.
gonna try it on tires and exterior trim when i get a chance. always looking for mat finish.
