Langka - chip repair - tried it

I got my first significant chip in my CL over the last few weeks. (Big road trips to Syracus and the White Mountains.) I purchased Langka awhile ago via the net and gave it a try. It's easy to use and works well. I'll pass on a couple of tips. In short, to use it, you apply touch-up paint, let it dry and then remove the excess paint using Langka. The product smoothes out the repaired surface so there is no excess paint left behind.

Tip #1. Do not use Honda/Acura touch-up paint. Why? The way it dries or rather does not dry or cure makes it problematic when used with Langka. Just use Duplicolor touch-up paint. It dries fast and works well with Langka.

Tip#2. Get micro-fine paint brush. Langka sells them on their site. Allows you to applying touch-up paint with surgical accuracy.

So, I give Langka a big thumbs up. Chips are going to happen and this helps to repair them pretty well.

Paul

I can't say I've met too many people that have success with Langka/Mothers chip repair.

Sounds like it worked well for you.

Same here...bcuz the original paint layer is so thin the chip is impossible to level off...I keep taking the new paint off the chip. I wonder if I should try the Duplicolor paint instead.

You need to layer the paint, coat after coat. fill the chip again and again. Then level, then polish. Chip should dissapear!
