Just wanted to make sure - please answer

I have read like 100 threads about leather and vinyl cleaners and my head is spinning!

Let me get this straight:

First of all, I want products not to make my car looking inside shiny like Hyunday's interior.

So,

for:

1. Vinyl, dashboard, and other places use: 303 Aerospace Protectant right? No shine will be there correct?

2. For leather: Lexol Cleaner and Conditioner? No shine, the seats will look as there were straight from the factory right?

If not, which products to use to get the results I want?

Thanks for help.

One more question,

What wiping cloth do you use and where to get one? Which one is the best?

Thanks

1. The consensus is that 303 is the best. I spray it on a rag (folded in half twice), apply it to the dash, and buff with the opposite side to obtain a matte finish. It you apply it heavy, and let it set, you will end up with some gloss.

2. Lexol has a great reputation. Others use 303. I like Mothers Reflections Leather Care - it is a one-step cleaner/conditioner product. Besides being easy to apply, it also leaves a matte finish (identical to the factory) and doesn't streak like some other products I have used (I have black leather).

I use microfiber clothes for both - a mix of the yellow ones from Costco and the light blue ones from Sam's Club (completely interchangeable, just bought them at different times).

Yeah, should have added I have black interior and leather seats.

Thanks for the info.

So is that Mothers Reflections Leather Care better (gives no gloss) comparing to Lexol (gives some gloss)?

why you need to read so much Unlike exterior detailing, it's pretty straightforward

1) Yes, 303 is the shit. Matte finish
2) Yes, I just use the conditioner, Unless your pants are NASTY, no need for the cleaner. just wipe seats with wet towel. Then apply Lexol.

You know those quik-shoe-polish applicator thing with a round sponge ?
That's how I do it, I use a sponge pad to apply Lexol.
This way lets me apply a good coat of Lexol and I let it set in, let the natural leather ABSORB the conditioner then I lightly wipe down with dry towel.

Thanks!

I am going to get the 303 for the interior and Lexol for the leather. Also some MF at Sam's Club I'll also look at the sponge pad

Thanks guys for help.

Just making sure: No glossy finish after Lexol right?

303, period. Everywhere. The Mothers Leather care is excellent as well, although glossier then 303. I would pick either of the above before Lexol. You can always wipe with a dampened MF also to reduce any shean....

Just go 303 everywhere if you got modern acura with plastic covered leather (pig skin). TSX owners cant tell leather from pleather, and who wants to know???

We got plastic coated pig skin. If you have uncoated beef skin, you need something different, hang on a different forum.

See my post for proper 303 application. Spraying 303 directly on stuff will leave you unhappy!

Just be clear that 303 Protectant is not a cleaner. You want to clean the dash first then use 303 to protect it.
