Just got my Zaino today...

... and I can't wait to use it! Thanks Homer2 for the quick delivery!

Coupla questions that I haven't seen answered on here...
ZAINO EXPERTS - PLEASE HELP!

1) ZFX. I bought the ZFX with my kit. Very small - a half full vial. I know it's only 4 drops here, 4 drops there, but how long will the ZFX last?

2) Order of doing things.
From everything I've read (Homer2's instructions, Zaino page, Detailing board) I think I'll go with the order listed below. If I'm missing or screwing up something, please let me know.
  • Dawn wash the car / dry the car
  • Z18 Clay Bar the car (use Z7 as lubricant)
  • Z7 wash the car / dry the car
  • ZFX/Z5 the car
  • Z6 Gloss the car
  • ZFX/Z5 the car (2nd coat)
  • Z6 Gloss the car once more
  • ZFX/Z2 the car (3rd coat)
  • Go to sleep until the next day.....
  • Z6 Gloss the car again
  • ZFX/Z2 the car (4th coat)
  • Z6 Gloss the car again
  • ZFX/Z2 the car (5th coat)
  • Z6 Gloss the car again
2 days later, I should have 2 coats of Z5 & 3 coats of Z2
Does this sound right?

The ZFX should be good enough to cover 2 to 3 bottles of Z-2 or Z-5.

After washing with Dawn, just rinse the car with the hose, then mix up the Z-7 lube and start claying. No need to dry the car, at that point.

I don't use Z-6 between ZFX/Z-5 coats, haven't noticed any diff between using it and not using it. Sal would probably kill me for saying that, though. But I do use Z-6 after the last of the three coats. I don't use it before applying the ZFX/Z-5 because the surface seems slick to me after using the Z-7 car wash which has some Z-2 in it.

And you need to wait 24 hrs AFTER you take off the last coat of Z-5 BEFORE starting with anymore ZFX mixture.

You should be able to get 3 coats from a 1 oz mixture of ZFX/Z-5. THINK THIN, THIN, THIN, and then THIN. I'd do 3 coats of Z-5 one day, then 3 coats of Z-2 the next.

i "could" agree with Duane

the Z6 inbetween coats is purely optional . . . . it doesnt hurt - and many say it helps . . . . matter of preference . . .
but do it before the first, and after the last for the day . .at least

the "no need to dry" after the initial wash is also correct . ."what was I thinking?"

and no, I wont tell Sal on you
