just got my PC 7424...start with ccs orange pads?
ok, i just got my PC 7424 after reading up on it for a few weeks. i am now trying to research pads and products to use with them to help remove some swirls and light scratches on my TL. i am looking at the 6.5" lake country ccs pads. i am thinking of starting with the orange pad and using Mazerna Intense Polish. is the orange too agggressive to start? has anyone had any experience with the Mazerna Intense Polish and orange pads?

i have not had any experience with the mip, but the orange pads will be fine...you will also want some white pads to use with a finishing polish after the mip, then a gray pad to use with either a finishing polish/wax or sealant....i also find the smaller pads work great too, easier to work around the trunk and front/rear bumpers....i think they are 5.5"....

We may be able to help you out better if you had some pics of your paint. I used a LC CCS orange pad and Megs #83 on my last detail but I suspect the Menz IP is going to be more aggressive. I think it is best that you get a couple of white polishing pads and some Menz Final polish or Micro Polish. Note, that Menz polishes are pretty expensive. Check with Exceldetail and he can steer you toward a good polish without breaking the bank. If you only have the orange CCS pad and IP combo then you have nothing else to go to if you create some micro marring. Performing a test spot before you start would be a wise choice and prevent you from obtaining unsatisfactory results over the entire car.

As has been stated start with the least agressive...
I have also founf that with the PC smaller pads get me better/faster correction... I like the 5.5" LC CCS pads from danase.com - the green LC CCS pad sold at danase (different than autogeek) is a great pad to do correction yet finsih down wac/sealant ready!
Smaller pads also make it more difficult to bog down the PC

I'm looking at buying a PC 7424 with 1 orange pad, 2 whites, and 1 black (Lake Coutnry) I need to remove the swirl marks from my NBP, which compounds/polish would you recommend? I will be finishing with Zaino by hand. I was looking at Poorboys SSR1 and maybe SSR2 or 2.5 or Pinnacle Advanced swirl remover. And poorboys professional polish to finish, then Zaino by hand to seal. How is the quality of the poorboys product? How are my selections too?

I would also skip the backs since I prefer to apply wax sealants by hand
If you have average correction (nothing severe) I would get most green and white with maybe one orange (for the potentially severe areas)
I would also save my money and get Menzerna polish...

It really depends on the defects you are trying to correct.. Are you just going to be doing your vehicle or friends/family/customers etc?
If more than just your car and potentially ceramic clear coats I would get super intensive polish and 106FF

The low profile (7/8") I found to be a little "unsafe" for my liking as compression became an issue, at least with Orange via the UDM. Exceldetail also offers the LC Erasure 5.5" pads, even a 4" Erasure.

Other than the PB products, I like your selections.
