Initial evaluation of Danase Wet Glaze.
In with my last order from Patrick at Excel I bought a bottle of Danase Wet Glaze.
I'm not a fan of glazes as such because most do a lot of filling and are temporary at the most but Danase isn't marketed that way. Its not a temporary fix for swirls etc. but an enhanser that bonds and won't wash away. So don't buy it to do a cover up cuz I don't know if it will and I don't have anything to cover anyway.
To back the story up a bit I put a layer of Duragloss #105 on the car last week as a base for my winter protectant and I'll apply a few more layers as time permits.
Yesterday I applied a layer of Danase Wet Glaze just to one front fender to see how it applied / looked.
Application instructions seemed a little odd to me as it says you apply it thin and rub it in untill it nearly is gone then buff the remaining haze off. I was a little nervous doing this as rubbing something in till near dry to me says it could induce marring. Not the case. Mind you I used a new yellow foam pad and did it with minimal pressure.
Application was not hard at all and a little goes a long way.
End result is it added gloss and depth/wettness to the #105.
I showed the fender to my neigbours wife who is a Pro photographer and also to a clients wife and both said they could see the deffinate difference in the finish between the 2 panels.
Keep in mind we are dealing with a white car which isn't the best example to use .. but thats what I have .. white & now wet...
Ease of use 8/10
Visuals 10/10
Longivity time will tell but it does bond not fill.
Cost effective 9/10 goes a long way .
Smell 7/10 .. I don't like grapes.
Would I buy it again ..... in a heart beat.

Glad to hear your review on DWG Jesstzn and that you like it. IIRC, I believe Bob from Danase has mentioned that his DWG is a variant of CG's EZ-Creme Glaze. I definitely believe him because they smell exactly the same, LoL.

Update .. layer #2
Got a chance today to put the second layer of Danase Wet Glaze on the WDP TL.
I took a couple of pix and anyone with a white car will know it doesn't show results well on camera.
But here goes .. in RL its a lot wetter & deeper than even Megs #16 over Zaino Z1 and just as glossy .. the base for it is Duragloss #105 x 1 .

If you read up .. there was a visable difference in R/L ..Unless you had identical light conditions before and after a difference won't show on camera. And I have a good one .

Like Jesstzn said, pictures don't really do the work any justice. In all honesty, you'd be best off trying it yourself. I personally believe you'll enjoy the DWG, as many of us detailers already do.

Beading of Danase Glaze
A couple of pix taken of water beading on Danase Wet Glaze over #105. If I that the nozzle off the hose and let a gentle stream of water play over the surface it will pull 90% of the water off the car making drying a lot easier.

Dale,
I'm glad you had a chance to check out DWG. I never really checked the product for durability since I followed it with FS UPP after a short cure period. I think this product is perfect for white and silver cars since these light colors are difficult to get that wet look.
Did you use the Duragloss #601 (PBA) before applying the #105 (TPP)?
Are you able to provide a durability comparison between FS UPP and Duragloss #105?
You don't like the smell of grapes?

I have never used FS UPP so can't help you there.

We did a bit of a photo shoot today before we went to the car show and one of the guys said .. "I see your still using Zaino " . I told him I did 2 layers of Z2 in March and then 2 x Klasse SG .. and a #16 .. ... which in my estimation no matter how good they are they will be gone by now .. 6 weeks ago I did a SG out of bordoum ( sp ) in the last week I have done #105 x 2 then a Wet glaze then #105 and another wet glaze and then #105 X2 .. thus the look ..
I'll post more pix in the am .. of the 6 cars we went with I have detailed 2 of them. And they all stand out ...

No doubt that that is about as good as it gets Dale.....But UPP's claim to fame is its slickness and ease of use..........
I always look at your work and admire it!

ive been using DWG on my black IS and it's amazing. i didn't do a full polish of the car due to the coming winter, my main objective was to clean the paint and reseal it.
the paint is in very good condition with minor swirling that are very light, i haven't polished it out since maybe march i believe. however my front bumper is sand blasted due to mainly highway driving during the winter which is unavoidable.
over the past two weeks i have done this,
clay
Klasse AIO
DWG
Klasse SG
this last weekend
DWG
Klasse SG again
all i can say is that it's amazing and wet. i just went outside under the light sun and the paint looks very wet and amazing. i may end up doing another DWG with klasse SG this coming weekend. overall i love this stuff.
this is the first glaze i have seen that they want you to work it into the paint, it kind of vanishes into it and you just have to wipe off the excess. amazing product!
NWRS is great as a Quick detailer, work excellent and no streaking when i needed to take off some tough spots where i went on a little to heavy with the SG which was minimal.
