i hate black paint.

I have been waxing my car for a while now but I notice the more I do, the harder it is to take the wax off. I have a blk CL-s and damn is it pissing me off. every time I waxx it the was never comes off fully. You can always see a wax residure everywhere. Ive tried applying thinnner coats, harder buffing. EVERYTHING> I use a pretty good wax too. Megs gold class. Any tips? Any suggestions? its so hard getting this wax off. do I need to get a high soeed buffer or something? Chankge wax.? polish? help me out!!

GC is good no doubt, but theres better my friend! Are you polishing also? You'll find that if you polish prior to waxing or sealing, your sealant, be it wax or a polymer will come off a lot easier. Take a step forward and try at a minimum, NXT, or better yet, go with Blackfire or Four Star UPP.

Italia, proper surface care starts at the base. That would be your clear coat (unless its pre-99'ish). You have to clean before you protect. Cleaning involves claying the surface, which will remove all fallout and misc pollutants, including the biggest of worries, brake dust. (Those metal particles have to go somewhere, and most notably, horizontal surfaces like hoods and roofs and decks) Your next step would be the polish i spoke of earlier. Polishing will remove the dead or oxidized elements of the surface, it will also round light catching edges, also known as swirls or spiderwebs. It will also enhance the way the surface feels. It can aslo add oils back to the paint which will enrich its appearance. Glazes will also add to visual dimensia. Last, you need to protect it, and you can do this with a variety of waxes and sealants. Sealants are most often referred to as Polymer, or Acrylics, i.e. Blackfire Gloss Enhancing Protection, Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection, NXT, Klasse Sealant Glaze to name a few. You will definetly find it much easier to remove your sealant or wax, if all of these steps above, are performed. This should also be done on a regular basis, minimum twice a year.
You can maintain your surface by hand, its just a heck of a lot easier once you have a Porter Cable Random Orbital Polisher/Sander (7224-7336). The best attainable results are accomplished with this machine.

Clear your pm's also!!

waxing black

I've got a two black vehicles including a black TL 5at navi. The advice posted earlier is good. I have found the so-called micro-fiber towels are great for getting wax or polish off. I also use Meg's Mist Detailer about every other wash and feel this really adds depth to shine.

Liqued or paste? I find the paste comes off a bit easier.

Applying it too thick? That makes it hard too.

Letting it sit too long? Again, makes it harder.

Is your microfiber(hope your using one) dirty? Dirty microfibers make removal harder.

After I remove all the wax from my car, I pull it out into the sun to see any spots I missed. I then do a 'check', kneeling down on all for corners of the car and looking down the sides to see if you missed anything. Then I take a detail brush and brush out all the cracks. Then I pull back into the garage and fire up my air compressor and blow the car off, if theres any dust on it.

I know pretty much all the stuff you guys are saying. I am using a Microfiber towel. I think my biggest problem is that I needed to clean my surface. like ExcelDetail said. I accually did that already and can see the diff. in feel as well as appearance. I used MEGS paint cleaner the Step 2 polish. I am going to wax tommarow. As for the wax Im using GC Megs. I should be alright now. The only think i was missing in my steps was the Polishing du to the fact that I dont have a high speed buffer. Thanks everyone for the help and I need to invest in one of those buffers. I was thinking the Dewalt... goes for about 200 beans. waht are your thoughts on that???

There running $100.00 at Lowes, about another 20% online. So if you have Lowes, it would be the best place.

Clean out your PM's Italia!

So how am I spamming? I'm just offering advice for people on these forums, if it's not wanted then just say so.
