Humidity and it's effect on detailing...
I know that getting the ideal conditions for detailing is next to impossible but I'm wondering what the humidity threshold is, in particular, for polishing and waxing.
Now my own thoughts are that higher humidity is preferable for polishing as the moisture in the air would assist in keeping the polish moist enough to be workable longer and that lower humidity would be preferable for waxing as it would cure faster? Does that make sense?
Reason is, after a few false starts; I will be detailing my car over the next few days and the forecast is cloudy with light rain both days (roughly 70% humidity) and about 18-20 degrees Celsius (~68 F).
I've just received my big order of Optimum products (compound, OP II, FP, wax, and Opti-Seal) and I'm wondering what are the best conditions to use those in. My experience has been with Zaino products in the past which are also polymer based and they seemed to set up quite well in high humidity.
Thoughts from the pros?
Thanks in advance!
