How to black out the moldings turned white...

How do, if there is a way, we get our moldings and weather seal around the sunroof back to black again? I dont really see myself popping it all off and buying new ones from Acura...I don't know the rep of this "back to black" crap i saw in Autozone... thanks for the help

If you mean the Mothers Back to Black, in a red bottle.....It works excellent. That is my go to product for all black rubber, plastic, and trim pieces.

Are you referring to the felt trim around the sunroof on the exterior? For door weatherstripping, einszett Gummifledge is excellent, and anything that needs renewing I go for Black Wow.

Here is the prblem...
The trim around the exerior on my sunroof is waxed and weather beat, like almost faded.
2) the cowl of my windshield wipers is turning white
3)the actual weather stripping in and around my outside windows is kinda getting faded
and 4) the inside wheel wells are all jacked up from mud and dirt. How woudl you detail or fix this?

1) The 1Z Gummi. It certainly helps, but you'll need multiple applications
2) Black wow, back to black, etc. Use sparingly and do it in multiple passes
3)see #1
4)a degreaser. My preference is Megs APC.

See above in bold.

1. Back to black, apply with a small brush....and tape up before waxing in the future.
2. Back to black, apply with microfiber.
3. Back to black.
4. Get a scrub brush and Formula 88 degreaser (6 bucks per gallon at Home Depot) and use a spray bottle. Apply liberally and scrub away. Repeat two, maybe 3 times, hosing off in between, and then dress with a spray tire shine.

My process for number 4 may be unheard of, but I swear it works. I do it on my car, and my customers cars.

I'm probably doing it wrong, but I get horrible streaking from Back to Black.

The car is an 06, and the wheel-inners are like carpeted type deals...The cowl around the wipers is like sun faded, and wax stained it seems. It was from the previous owner, Id like to start fresh and keep it looking good-after I spend millions of dollars to rejuvenate the weathered and neglected pieces I mentioned in this post.

How and where do you apply it?

This was on my CR-V, which has an acre of plastic molding. I applied with a cotton applicator, let sit for a little bit, and buff off, like it says on the bottle. I'm guessing I used too much.

Yeah Im not a bin B2B fan at all.
Looks like a watered down tire dressing. Smells good though!

When I use it all up, I'll be looking out for a new product to try. Black Wow is the leading candidate.

Although, it looked much better when I did it on the Accord rocker mouldings. I wonder if it's a 'less is more' kinda deal. The CR-V will get a new coat this weekend under that theory.

Question - is there a way to remove stuff like this, or do we wait until it fades?

When I use b2b I apply with a small terry cloth and just let it dry. I do not buff. It leaves a factory fresh look every time.

I have an 06 that sits outside, and this part of the car really seems to fade quickly in the sun. The black turns to dark grey in just a few years. Kind of crappy uv resistance on Acura's part. Even cheap Honda Fits seem to have better black plastic cowl molding under the wipers. I too have a little bit of white staining from a lazy spray wax job. It will not come off. Any suggestions for removing was stains before I try to make the part black again? I wonder how much it would cost just to replace the damn part instead.

I personally have never got wax on any of the plastic, however on my outer sunroof gasket has been plastered with wax before. All I did was apply 2 coats of b2b and it's black again.
If you wanna clean it before applying, try giving it a LOT of attention with a brush while washing the car.
