I recently took the car to a car wash. My car still has that "New Car" smell so I specifically told them I did not want any car scent sprayed into my car. Well they didn't listen and now my car smell very strongly like a big air freshener... reminds me of the smell of a Rental car. Yuck!

I read that baking soda might help so I bought 2 boxes and left them in my car. I also left the windows cracked open when I can. So far it help a little but the air freshener smell is still there. Any other ideas on how I can get rid of that nasty smell?

 

Putting a small bag of activated charcoal can also help absorb the smell.
