How about a good news thread....?

This probably isnt the appropriate place for this, but WW is like family to me.....how about users posting good news in the family or friends arena.....It sure would be nice for a change. Especially reading in th headlines about all the attention the world is giving to North Korea, things are definitely spiraling downhill with the threat of nuclear activity......
Anything good or great going on with you, your significant other or friends?

My 18 year old graduated high school this year and is enrolled in Jr College, and my 21 yr old is attending University of Cal at Santa Barbara, studying Environemental Science. So I have something to be grateful for!

The recession has not affected me much so far. I have a wonderful wife and two great sons. I've got a nice home that I am not leveraged out the wazoo on and 3 nice cars in the driveway to use exceldetail products on.

I have to honestly say, the greatest thing going for me nowadays, is that nothing bad is going on. Life is normal. All I can ask for

(knock on wood of course)

My brother just graduated high school, going to University of California San Diego.

I'm going to start my third year in college after summer. I got 2 A's so far, just waiting on accounting grades.

On a bad note... I have to spend a huge amount of money soon, for engine mounts, and lower control arms.... going to hold off on new detailing equipment because I will soon be broke.

I have 2 boys (oldest and middle) and a princess myself...The one attending UCSB is the oldest boy, and has managed to keep women out of the picture to this point. Being born and raised in Calif. myself, and surfing for many a years, im all too aware of what the coast holds in the way of "hotties".....lol He's sharp looking kid too, as long as he stays focused , we wont have too many concerns, but women have there ways , we all know that........

The Good: I'll be attending Stanford's Graduate School of Business in the fall.

The Bad: The $36,000 a year tuition mean no mods and hardly any detailing coming up.

The Ugly: Like I'm gonna have time to detail/mod my TL...haha.

congrats!!!

i guess for me...

I have two very supportive parents who love me very much. I have my own house and am still employed in this scary market. And I am engaged to a wonderful woman....

MOD NOTE: even though this is technically an off topic thread, i realize that many of you guys in W&W don't venture outside to Ramblings. since we have become a mini W&W family, let's keep it here for a while so that it doesn't get crapped up in Ramblings by the PW's...

life is good, love reading detailing information here, which in turn causes this bad spending habit at Pats site!! I have two beautiful kids with birthdays this month boy 7 on 6/16 , daughter 3 on 6/27 and a great wife, just painted and redecorated the inside of the house (only took 11yrs). my boy is on a travel ice hockey team for next year (WOOT WOOT) and most importantly family is all healthy!

Hope everyone has a great summer!!!

The Good: Graduating from law school in SF

The Bad: The $170,000 debt I've accrued as a result of my education

The Ugly: 8-12 hours a day studying for the bar when I'd rather be dreaming of ways to make my car look purdy.

Well after 12 years of smoking, I've finally took the step to go through with my New Years resolution (made the same one for the past 10 years btw) to stop. I'm on some prescription that my doctor gave me. Works like a charm, except for the excessive gas that it gives me , but have managed to cut down from seven cigarettes a day to one every other day and soon to be none at all. At about six bucks a pack, that is a savings of about $40 back in my pocket....well at least until I placed it on my order to Pat for a chance at a new PC . It certainly is one accomplishment that I am very proud of. I'm also very proud of my soon to be seven years old son who graduated from first grade.

I'm also happy that my girlfriend is recovering nicely from her chemotherapy sessions. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in February at 26 years of age. It almost hit us like a brick because I had just bought a car in January and thought that everything was gonna be just fine. Fortunately, we've had the support of wonderful friends and family that have helped in every way possible to help us out in these times.

So I'm glad that in tough times like these, we are able to manage.
Hmmm....now what to get for Father's Day....

Congrats on the quitting smoking ..I smoked for 27 years an quit in 1990 and haven't had one since. Of all the things I did in my life , and I did a few, that was the toughest.

I keep telling kids that I see smoking " You do that because you think it makes you look grown up and maucho ... You wanna show how tough and maucho you are ... try quitting"

Don't give up son. You'll never regret how hard it was to quit.
