House paint on car
Fiancee was behind a car that hit a can of house paint (most likely) on her was to work this AM. Paint splatter on 1.2 hood, front left quarterpanel, bumper, etc...
Anyone actually successful in getting this off? Not interested in google searches, I have done them myself...
I have PC, polish, bug/tar remover, clay, etc available

Check that out.
Hit it with the bug and tar remover, and wash the car. Clay should get most of it off and then polish and seal. What pads do you have?

Scuffs/transfer are usually no prob, but this is liquid paint (latex?) and it is dried now.
I have orange, red, grey, white pads...
Will try the clay and bug/tar remover when the missus gets home. Also may try alcohol on cotton swabs to see if it works.

Don't use anything abrasive first. Use the clay bar first. If that doesn't work use wd40 and see if it comes off. That worked when I had tar speckled all over the car. If that doesn't work use a polishing pad with some light cut abrasive and get more aggressive if that doesn't work either.

I am pretty proficient when it comes to knowing how to polish a car... Thanks though.
Believe it or not, Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remove plus a LOT of elbow grease and a cheapo costco MF towel is getting it off the clear coat.
One. Spot. At. A. Time. :shootme:
The base layer of Klasse SG probably is helping a little.
I tried QD and the paint spots laughed at it. It must be the mineral spirits in the TW.
I know I started to get a little high using it in the closed garage until the fiancee came out and was like "WHOA there Cheech... Let's open the garage door."

4 Hours of hard labor later and all that is left to be done is the grill and the fog lights.
We simply ran out of B+T remover.

I've read about using plastic razor blades very carefully to remove dried on road paint, which I imagine would be much tougher to get off clear coat. Obviously a polish job was required afterward.

Well, just an update or two...
I went to use the new bottle of Turtle Wax Bug and Tar remover and it seems to now be formulated without the Mineral Spirits. Useless to remove the house paint.
Quick trip to Home Depot for a bottle of mineral spirits.
The paint spots on the black plastic trim is MUCH harder to remove. Basically I needed to use a plastic implement to scratch each paint spot off, even after soaking in mineral spirits. There are just some I can not get too, particularly in the plastic "mesh" grid below the hood and above the bumper.
Specifically, in these areas:
So, we shall see what happens in a year or so when she turns it in on the lease-end.
Also, and coincidentally, a co-worker of hers had the exact same thing happen a few days later. He paid $300+ to get the car polished and it still does not look right.
