I wet sanded a few spots on my car becos it had some stains that have nerver come off with several years or washing and waxing but the problem is NOW this spots I wet sanded(probably took some of the clear coat off maybe 2much) are now the spots are kind off dull looking and whitish with a haze.

What can I do to make it looking like new again, well short of getting a paint JOB.

Did you attempt to polish the spots after you finished wet sanding them?

Link to wet sanding process... take a look at the section called "Get the shine back"

you need to stop, step away from the car and do some searching and reading before you do anymore damage....years of washing a waxing does nothing to remove or polish anything from your paint...please do a search for detailing and you will find the answers your looing for....

wash
clay
polish
wax/seal

thoes are the steps that need to be followed to maintain your car....wetsanding is not necessary, and dont confuse wax with polish...and please, always use the least agressive approach first, sanding would not be the least agressive...

i saw a review a turtle wax compound, and i dont think it will do your paint any good. that stuff will still need to be followed up by a polish. try using a light abrasive polish. might wanna leave wet sanding to the pros also...

I really don't think the Turtle Wax will really help you. Most of their product line is generally crap but there are a few decent things out there. However, the "polishing compound" you speak of is not one of them.

i actually did this due to retarded touch up paint..

wetsanded with 2000 grit...

got some rubbing compound..

then some megs polish....

paint cleaner.. then waxed it..

took me some time due to me using only my hands and some pads....

Actually, your glaze will go on your vehicle before the LSP.

It's quite possible that "it will be gone" due to the fillers in the glaze and LSP you use and even more possible that defects would return once the glaze and LSP has faded.

I will start out by saying that wet-sanding should only be undertaken by an experienced detailer or professional, as the paint finish can very easily be damaged utilizing this technique

See article Wet-Sanding (Colour Sanding)- http://detailingwiki.com/index.php5?...Colour_Sanding

So I shouldn't use that-un belt sander and 80 grit belts that I got at the flea market on Saturday? Feller there said they'd be jes the thang for paint correction. I was gonna run the garden hose over the paint while I worked it down. So you're sayin' that's not a gud idear?

It only looks better because you filled it in with wax. Once that wax wears off, it'll look the same as how it was before you applied the wax.

yeah def do some reading before undertaking wet sanding again. and even then go practice on seomeone elses car first (joke)
but seriously get some junkyard car panels and try it on that.

i just wet sanded a deep scratch that the previous owner tried to touch up with those pens, but he completely went overboard with that amount of paint to use. i used 2000 unigrit automotive sanding paper that i soaked in water for and hour or so. my first time wetsanding so i was real nervous, kept checking the pain every 2-3 swipes. once you get it down to the apprpriate level and dry it out, there will be hazing, basically used my udm + optimum compund too polish it out.
