Help! Grit from roadwork stuck to my car.

I went to wash my 05 TL NBP today because it was filthy. Here in NJ all it's been doing is raining so it was actually nice out today so it was time to clean my baby. Anyway, around where I commute there was road paving going on for a week or so. Apparently what I thought was just dirt is all road grit STUCK to the sides and back of my car. I tried to scrub it with the microfiber sponge I clean the car with, and NOTHING would come off. I'm sooo pissed right now! Anyone have any ideas of how to get this off? Anyone ever experience this before? Thanks.

I would try claying first, if that doesn't work, perhaps some kind of degreaser

Bug and tar remover....Stoners Tarminator. Spray can, you can buy it at most auto parts stores etc. or try the WD-40 like Excel stated

Yeah, the more I thought about it maybe bug & tar remover would work. Figure the grime is from when they milled the road...which is tar. Forget about claying it. There is so much of it I'd probably go through about 20 bars.

You can also use glaze to take it off. My mom's Escape had some tar that even WD40 couldn't take out, Paul from Chemical Guys told me to use glaze and it melted right off.

Thats very strange........What type of glaze? WD has a higher content of solvents then what I hoped most glazes would!
Any chance of the WD softening it up prior to using the glaze ?

If its tar based then Mineral Spirits ( Naptha ) on a soft cloth to soften it then wipe away. Let the mineral spirits do its job till the stuff runs brown. If you start rubbing your liable to end up with a crap load of scratches because most that tar has grit imbedded in it.

Solvent for oil based house paint will work also.

It will take the wax off to but then most of the workable methods will anyway.

It' the CG Revive Glaze.

Originally tried to use WD40, then waited another week to try it again. Got stumped, Paul told me to come down on a Saturday to hangout and try samples, I did and took my mom's Escape. Showed the problem area to him and he grabbed the Revive from his sample stash and a MF cloth and he told me to work it, 5 minutes later all gone.

From initial trying of WD40 to fixing it with the glaze took about three weeks. Maybe the 2 doses of WD softened it up, but I doubt it.
