Spots on paint
Spots on paint
I left my car at the dealership for 3 days while I was on a trip to have the rotors turned. In front of the dealership there is a lot of road construction. When I picked up my car, the entire surface had a very heavy dirt deposit, with a rain spotting that had dried (I request to not have the car washed in the auto washer). Just two weeks prior, I had clayed the car and put on a new coat of wax, not a blemish to be found at the time.
I went home and washed the car and I have a look of dried water spots on the finish. I tried claying it first, then buffed it with a polish compound, and can't seem to cut it. In the day time you can't see it, but at night with the reflection of lights it looks horrible.
I called the dealer and they said it was most likely calcium deposits, that they would buff it out with a buffer and more aggressive compound.
While I know this must be done, will I lose the high gloss that it used to have? Does anyone know of any other way to remove the spotting?
