headlight cleaning

headlight cleaning

i have never cleaned headlights before but it looks so simple hopefully i wont scratch it . i was hoping if anyone had any suggestions on products and ways to go about cleaning headlights

I forget what product I used but i remember the process. I used a high RPM air gun to spin the sander. A drill would work fine just don't push to hard or you'll score the lens too deep.

1) sand 500
2) sand 800
3) sand 1000 wet
4) sand 3000 wet
5) polish
6) clean wax/polish

To maintain it, just use a clear wax to keep the road grit from scratching the lens

I bought this 3M kit:



It comes with everything you need except a drill to mount the pads and shit to. I did the headlights on my 04 TL and on my mom's 97 Dodge Intrepid back in November. There hasn't been any buildup on the lights since!
