First time with Zaino
I read a lot of Zaino posts and read the instructions and came up with this 22-step plan for the first zaino application to my black 02 CLS with swirl marks:
1. Dawn
2. Rinse
3. Dry
4. Clay Bar with 1/2 cap of Z7 as lubricant in 12 ounces of water
5. Dawn
6. Rinse
7. Wash Car (Z7- 2 caps/gallon) in sections then rinse
8. Z-1, don't wipe off
9. Z5 over Z1(1-3 coats)
10. Wait 1 hour for it to dry for removal
11. Test to see if dry. Smear with finger...should be no haze
12. Wipe off Z5
13. Wait 6 hours
14. Wipe off Z5
15. Z6
16. Do another coar of Z5
17. Wait 6 hours
18. Wipe off Z5
19. Z6
20. Do another coar of Z5
21. Wait 6 hours
22. Wipe off Z5
If someone sees something wrong with this please let me know.

1) Dawn
2) Rinse
3) No need to dry. Go right to the clay barring
4) Or put a couple or three capfuls in a wash bucket and use a wash mitt
5)6) No need to use Dawn here
7) Wash with Z-7 to remove any clay residue, then dry
8) Apply Z-1 to the whole car. THIN, THIN, THIN
9) Immediately apply Z-5 to the whole car. THIN, THIN, THIN
10)This is humidity dependent. Low humidity, faster drying, maybe 15 minutes. Higher humidity, longer drying, maybe an hour
11) Finger test. If smearing, wait
12) Wipe off Z-5
13) Wait 6 hrs. If temp is 70 or above, can apply one more coat. Finish up the day with Z-6
14) If you are using Z-1/Z-5, you now need to wait 24 hrs before applying another coat of Z-5. You can keep applying the Z-5 until you're happy with your swirl situation. Then, apply the Z-2, if you have it
If you had gotten ZFX, you could apply 3 coats per day, one right after the other. Quick drying
And Z-1 is only applied every six months or after 10 applications of either Z-2 or Z-5
Dawn is not needed again
Clay barring should be done maybe once a year or if you feel roughness on the finish

Ok-- the car was looking great so I decided to apply another coat of z5. I put it on too thick in some places so it naturally took longer to cure. No problem...a little wasted z-5 and a lot of wasted time (7 hours later...i know...too thick)-- but lesson learned.
I thought I wiped off all the z-5 but there apparently still was some on the hood. When I sprayed on the z-6, it looked all greasy. I know I should have waited more or wiped it up more...but what do I do now?
1. Wait more and z6?
2. Wait more and reapply the z5, wait, then z6?
3. Water?
4. Clay?
5. Dawn?
6. Z6 now?
7. None of the above?

If the smearing is just on the hood, take a dampened towel and go over the area and dry. If there's smearing here, there and everywhere, wash the car with Z-7.
THIN!!!!

I am a professional and this is the first time i have ever heard of this
This Zaino stuff sounds bizarre and strange. One must realize that it is possible to over wax a car. Waxing too often can lead to ruining the paint because the paint cannot "breath" because of all the wax. When an individual uses a rotary buffer rather than a orbital buffer he is moving the paint around. Waxing too often causes the paint to slowly detoriate at a faster rate. Working at a shop i have the opportunity to wash my car once a week sense it is garge kept and rarely gets dirty. But i only wax my car when i see that it is no longer beading water after i am finished washing it and beginning to dry that is the only time that i take the time to wax the car. If the car is beading water better than your own skin then there is absolutely no need at all to wax the car. Please keep this in mind when using this product that everybody is talking so highly about. It may turn out to bite you in the behind down the road if you are not careful especially with paint on the new body acuras which seems to wear differently than that of the earlier body styles.
Thanks,
Bryant

Stick to what you know best, washing cars with brooms.
BTW, in a previous post you called yourself a Professional Acura Detailer.

You must be one of those geniuses that wash cars with a push broom.
