First time with PC

Ok, let me start off by saying I have a newfound respect for those that fully detail their cars. Holy hell!

I have just started to try my hand at this (i'm one of those people who tends to overthink things - I had my pc for one month before I felt "ready"). I was wondering if the experts could chime in if I have forgotten anything.

Washed, clayed, and taped (wow, taping takes a lot longer than I thought). Here's what I was using:

Optimum Compound II with orange pad
Optimum Compound II with red pad
Optimum Poli-Seal with white pad - all 5.5"

I have 2/3 of the car done, and am planning on finishing the rest tomorrow. Here are my questions.

I have some UPP - do I still need to apply this or is the poli-seal fine?
Did I use the right products on the right pads?
When doing the car, is it best to do an entire quarter panel, trunk lid, 1/2 hood at a time, or is it best to break it down into smaller sections?
I get residue from the tape I use (3m painters). Normal??
And lastly, should I pop on some spray wax once the job is completed???

Any tips/suggestions are appreciated. I didn't get results like some of the pictures I have seen here, but I definitely saw an improvement. Pics upon completion.

Should've let me know. I've been practicing on a junk yard door for a week. Polished it real nice and pretty, then wetsanded and polished again. I used opt compound and orange pad, then opt polish and white pad. These were products I got with the buffer from phee.

I'm sure those with more experience will set us straight if I'm wrong, but I plan on a coat of Carnuba wax after the sealant.

Edit:
I used Optimum Polish II with the red pad.

FirePR2002, no problem. I thought I had a unique name, and then I saw UGA.

I hope to have everything done by tomorrow night. I didn't time this project right with football starting today!

Opt Compound can be used with Yellow/Orange/and white, same with the Polish II. The Red pad should be used exclusively for Sealants and liquid nubas.......

Oops.

Should I apply some UPP after the poli-seal or is it fine as-is?

Now that I think of it, should I re-do the parts that I have done? I was thinking of using the Polish with the white pad and the poli-seal with the red?

Oh, the learning curve.

Polish with white, Poliseal with white, or grey (White preferred). Do over for Optimal results Cochese!

You can apply the UPP over the poliseal, I would use the red pad for the UPP, not poliseal or compound

Poliseal works great on a white pad, trust me

I figured I would have to do it again, but you can't get good results without putting in the work.

Thanks for the help everyone!

Pics to come......
