Finally detailed the TL

1. Wash
2. Mothers clay bar kit
3. Meguiars Scratch X 2.0
4. 1 Layer Meguiars NXT 2.0
5. 1 Layer of Mothers Brazilian Carnauba Wax

6HRs......

Please excuse the iphone pics, didn't have a real camera around.

Trunk

Roof

Hood

Side

Over the past 2 months, I initially began with the Mothers Carnauba, but it's true what they say. Synthethic wax like NXT will make the metallic pop more. I did not get the metallic pop like this with the Mothers or the cheapie spray turtlewax.

Diff focus for the reflectiveness

HOWever, the cheapie spray turtlewax does reflect and DEEPEN the color very well.

Looks good for sure. Other than maybe increase durability, I wouldn't see much gain by layering the Mothers Carnuba ontop of the NXT. Two waxes that are going to be better overall and still provide a great pop for flake would 1Z Glanz or Collinite 845 (which has crazy durability). But what you're doing so far is a great start!

Thanks!

I did the carnauba as the so called "sacrificial layer" and also to try and reep some of the carnauba benefits.

I've used NXT on other cars and it definitely shines more than a carnauba, but it lacks the depth of carnauba.

Bruce, if you can get a camera (and not an iPhone), I think your pictures will do your car justice.

Heh, Yeah I agree, the iphone camera isn't really capturing what I see.
Everytime I have the camera handy it's parked in the shaded carport. :p

The TL-S looks good. If you get a chance can you post some full shots of the car.

With 2 layers of wax, that's close to 2hrs in set time

Clay is not a fast process, claying takes time.
Detailing a car by yourself by hand takes a long time.
