A few questions from a detailer.......

Some great questions on Optimum products posed this afternoon via emal. I just wanted to share in case there were some of you who may have been wondering yourself!!

Hey Patrick, this is ****(detail***). I have a few of questions for you.
"Hi ****, thanks for writing. Please find my opinionated answers in bold, behind your original question(s)."

1)What kind of finish do Optimum Instant Detailer and Optimum Car Wax Spray leave (do they darken or brighten the paint?)The ID & GE leaves a very slick and reflective appearance. It neither darkens nor mutes colors or flakes. I have found the ID & GE really brings silvers and blue metalflakes a little closer to the surface. *The Spray wax on the other hand ever so slightly adds depth, and enrichens dark colors. It almost softens white also. It's a very equal balance of Nuba depth, and Polymer clarity.

2)The description on your site for the Instant Detailer reads that it offers a little cleaning power. Will this compromise the LSP?Its cleaning capabilities are solely attributed to its chemical makeup (Lubrication). It will not remove stubborn road tar or hardened sap (or gooey sap). It will add to your LSP's protection.

3)Does the Optimum Car Wax Spray mute the flakes on metallics? See #1(*)

You have so many products on your website! ...I am still trying to decide which ones to order.

I am thinking:

Four Star UPP

DG Aquawax ( maybe I should order Four Star Spray Wax instead ?)

Surf City Beyond Black tire dressing

Not sure if I should get the Four Star pre-wax cleaner or Danase Wet Glaze.

A bunch of microfiber clothes to add to my white towels. You have too many to choose from.

I am thinking:

Four Star UPP
A sure winner in my book, my best selling sealant.

DG Aquawax ( maybe I should order Four Star Spray Wax instead ?) Either or, is perfect in conjunction with your base sealant. Slight edge goes to DG for value.

Surf City Beyond Black tire dressing. Excellent dressing. Also CONSIDER Tuf Shine. A new product to Exceldetails store, but a quick success. EXCELLENT tire care, used on both of my personal vehicles.

Not sure if I should get the Four Star pre-wax cleaner or Danase Wet Glaze. Different products dannyboy. One prepares, one accentuates. Matter of fact, the pre wax cleaner could be used prior to UPP, then topped with SWG.

A bunch of microfiber clothes to add to my white towels. You have too many to choose from. Sorry.....=) What white towels are you using?

Both OID and OCW are very good products, and I use them both regularly on my personal cars as well as my clients. Highly recommended!!

They are paper towels........just kidding.

I have a couple white bath towels from Bed Bath and Beyond. Also some white Meguiars detailing towels.

I am looking to buy some microfiber cloths since people here like them very much. Exceldetail has many to choose from. Can I assume the more expensive ones are "better"?

Yeah, microfiber towels are your best media for detailing. All the towels that Patrick has are top notch and the more expensive towels are better. However, that's not always the case with towels outside of Excel Detail. I will say that the Excel Elite towels are by far my favorite.

Get rid of those bath towels! They should stay in the bathroom, LoL.

Yup, I love using the Optimum Car Wax. It's as easy to use as a QD with great slickness and it will not go away after a wash.

They're the same exact towel but only the quantity is different.
