Exclamation Exceldetail seeking new website......heres a mock up....

Not too many people know, but I actually started this business on a hunch, and a stroke of good luck!
With no time to seek web designs, I used a friends host, and made a quick website. Well 6 years later, it still shows......lol.
So Im seeking generous opinions on a new site someone has created for me. Its a rough draft, the links are inoperative, but its something to build off of. I basically told them the color scheme, and that was really it.....
So take a look, and advise of changes which should be made.......
I have a few in mind, but without sharing, I would like to get your guys' opinions.....

I like the color scheme. A short vid of "How to use" the UDM would be helpful to me. Making people more comfortable using your products will undoubtedly sell more products.

I like the look, it's classy and professional.

However, in my opinion, there is something missing. It just doesn't "pop". With a quick glance it is difficult to determine what it is you do, other than something dealing with cars.

I would replace the large white space that has the testimonial in it with pictures of products that would at least draw attention and immediately let people know what it is you are all about.

Looks good.

Finding an effective way to improve product orgainzation and presentation in the store is your biggest challenge. Lots of items, some cross-over catagories, etc.

It's pretty good now, but the on-line store is the bread-and-butter for the web site, so it has to be all it can be.

One thing I noticed is that on the UDM, when you went to "more info" in the store, there was no picture of the product and/or accessories.

These kinds of site need to be dumbed down and simple as possible. It looks nice, but its for the wrong site IMO, looks impersonal as well.

I think its too busy if you're trying to target as many people as you can.

If i was given this project, I'd suggest using minimal images as possible. I personally liked the old one sorry.

Again I just feel like this design is really nice, but not for your business. But who knows what your demographic is so it might be the opposite of what i said =P

Looks good IMHO. I think there is enough room to spell out "International" instead of "int."

Hey if theres folks on here who can provide artwork, logos, etc., I would be very greatful!
As for demographics? Its anyone and everyone, everywhere!

Also, keep in mind, this is not the final project, its the beginning stage, just inception. There will be a lot of changes......

- I'm guessing that your Clients link will have pictures? You need a link that say "Gallery". In the gallery, you can show your work and other people work (with their permission of course). Pictures only, no comments.

- About Us and Contact Us should be next to each other.

-You should leave out the Testimonial on the bottom left. Also take out the huge testimonial in the middle. Your products and services will sell itself. In case they need testimonial, there's a link already for it. The people who use your site may not be tech savvy that is why less clutter is better.

-For each item, you may want to a rating system (1-5 stars) and have people write comments.

-Move up the "New Items" to replace the testimonial and leave the bottom blank.

couldn't agree more...I think it will be nice to have the products on the first page, where people can do a search or see list of products, sort of like the meg's website...the place "The Information Link" is probably the first thing people will see, and it has to attract attention (products they're looking for)....just my 2 cents....

I think more photos of the products will be much much better..even on the first page...

In general, the web looks too proffesional...may be not for a car care online store?

The last post says that it looks 'professional' and I agree, that's exactly the image you'd want to convey.

Needs a little work yet to iron out the bugs and get it exactly the way you want it.

Great job thus far

Wow, I actually found one thats is satisfactory. Not leaps and bounds above everyone else, but its a competitive look.
Should be up and running by weekends end......(fingers crossed, I will be detailing tomorrow, so theres one day shot.)

If theres some erros, bare with me, my time is limited! (Im not saying stop ordering Eurow Kits so I can get this done!)
P.S., the response to those kits has nearly been overwhelming.

I like the new look. Seems more organized and uncluttered. I think the pictures of your work are nice but it would be more effective to show the before pictures so one can see how well the products work. I agree with SupaRookie's idea of allowing your customers to comment and rate the products as well.
