Duragloss PBA #601

Hello, I have a question about Duragloss PBA #601. I'm getting ready to clay my car and was wondering if this is a good or recommended product to use before appying Duraglass #111? Pro? Cons?

Thanks

Kinda sums it up nicely. So to answer your question, it does seem like a good idea. I would clay, use the #601, then apply the sealant.

Bought some Duragloss #111 for my detail project. It turns out that a sample bottle of the PBA #601 comes with it, along with a applicator! What a nice surprise. I'm good to go.

#111 is their most "pure" sealant. Regardless of what has been said on other forums about 105 being their "true" sealant. #111 is it. As for 106, i didnt find a whole lot of benefit in its application. But if its free, by all means use it and come to your own conclusion, and please share with us. It may be something I have overlooked. Directions state apply 106, then sealant (without wiping off 106)
I have only used it once and am giving this experience on that sole use/application. So it may not even be a worthy "test", just thought I would share.
Matter of fact, I wrote Duragloss earlier this week because Im tired of dissagreeing those folks on other forums who insist the contrary of my beliefs/findings. I simply asked the chemist at Duragloss to rate the cleaning and protective abilities of 101, 105 and 111. From 1-10, 10 being most aggressive/protective. This is a copy of the email reply.
On a scale of 1 – 10, Duragloss 111 would be 1
DG 101 would be 5
Dg 105 would be 10
All have excellent gloss and durability which we would rate a 10.

So, your saying that #111 is the worse for durability, according to the Duragloss chemist? And #105 the best? But all products are good?

mighty interestin... is the #111 a typo? or just relaying what the chemist said.

I tried out the #111, and I rained 2 weeks straight in MN, and it worked great.

Let me try again. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most aggressive.
On a scale of 1 – 10, Duragloss 111 would be 1
DG 101 would be 5

Dg 105 would be 10
All have excellent gloss and durability which we would rate a 10.

According to the chemist, they would all rate equal in durability.
So again, 105 is a All in one cleaner/protectant.
101, is the older version of a cleaner protectant, with less cleaning ability then 105.
111 is their pure sealant, no cleaners.
If your suffering from a need to try Duragloss, go with 105 and top a day or two later with 111........Feel free to try 106 prior to 111. Its my feeling (contrary to Autogeek) if you apply 106, then 105, 105's cleaners will remove 106.
So go 105, 106, 111.

Okay, we finally have a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky and cool. So detailed the outside of the car using the DG 601 AND DG 111. First of all, the DG 601 (sample, enough for one car) comes with the DG 111, along with a sponge applicator and instructions. It was a pleasant surprise.

First things first, I gave the car a though washing using Dawn to help strip the wax some. Next, I clayed.

After claying I used the DG 601 and put on a thin coat as per the instructions. It goes on just like liquid wax. You can use it in the shade or sun. It went on very nice, smooth and even. Do not remove this product, as it prepares the paint for the DG 111 (sealant). Here's a couple of pics after the DG 601:

As you can see it's kinda shiney already.

Next I applied the DG 111 by hand. Used a cotton applicator rubbing in a circular motion. And allowed it to dry. You can do the whole car before buffing it.

After drying I buffed it up using my electric circular polisher and a wool bonnet. I haven't seen my SSM sparkle like this since I first bought it.

My final step I waxed using Meguiars Gold Class liquid wax. Put on a thin coat, allowed it to dry and again buffed it up with the polisher. Here are the final results:

All in all I found the DG 601 AND 111 very easy to use and simply love the results. The DG 111 offers superior UV potection and helps to give your car that wet look.
