Dealer paint sealant

bought my car a month ago. when purchased on sticker it states dealer added paint sealant job. Thoughts about when to do this again. Even if they used cheap sealant how long should that be good for. Plan on getting waxed this week.

Howdy,

I had my TSX paint sealed to....but not at the dealers. I had a good experience with a body shop in town and a product they used on my old '92 Talon really helped keep the colour from fading. So I figured what hell I'll have them do my TSX.

From what I've read, and from what I've been told, these kinds of coatings typically last 3 to 5 years tops. I've also been told to use a wax with this kind of coating and not a polish, as polishes are a synthetic plastic kind of stuff and that is pretty much what you get when you buy the paint sealant.

My advice is to wax your car twice a year with a good wax (I like Eagle One) and don't bother with paint sealant again after the first coat.

Well, the paint sealer that delaers sell to you just pad their pockets. There is no benefit of getting it done. Like Ming coating, paint sealing, scotchguarding, undercoating, etc.

THey are all implemented to pad the pockets of the dealers.

True, to a degree. There is some benefit, just not an economical one! Although the undercoating is a pretty good aging deterrent.

As for protection of that 06 bought in may? Get with the program and start a detailing regimine!
