Really need ZFX?

When I was about to order the Z-5 for removing swirls. I was told on the website that if it was my first time using Zaino products that I needed to order ZFX too. Do I really need this product? I've never used Zaino before.

ZFX is a flash cure additive that will help the drying time of it to make the process quicker. To make life simple, i ordered one of the detailing packages that had ZFX, Z-2, Z-5, Z-6, claybar, decal and z-7 carwash.

Just a FYI, Z-5 will not remove swirls, it's non abrasive and a filler designed to hide them. The only swirl removing product Zaino offers is Z-PC fusion.

You don't NEED ZFX to use Z-5 but, in addition to enabling the application of multiple layers of Z2/5 in a 24 hour period, it increases durability.

I'm not sure if you're set on Zaino, but you may want to look into the XMT Line. It's specifically designed for use with the PC and with 3 levels, you're sure to remove everything you want to. It's also very controllable in regards to breakdown time and effectiveness.

don't buy z-5 by itself unless u are planning on going with the full zaino kit. it's fairly well known it doesn't work very well just in terms of hiding swirls. most ppl who do use zaino use the full kit and the only significant difference (to me) b/w z-2 and z-5 is that z-2 produces more of a bling shine so some ppl like z-5 better.

zaino does work very well as a protectant/sealer. u can wipe dried bird crap off with a paper towel and water. if you are serious about removing swirls u need to use a PC.

+1, I found that out the hard way. I had some major spider webbing on my black G35 and I got Z5 to try and remove the swirls. I soon found out that it didn't do squat for my swirl marks........and then found out later that Z5 makes an attempt at hiding the swirl marks rather than removing them. I purchased a Porter Cable and some Poorboys SR2.5 and SR2. That got the job done!

Good luck with your swirl marks.
