DA Polisher assembly help!

Hey guys,

I am sure this is a stupid question, but how exactly does the backing plate attach to the bottom of the PC? I see that it screws into the bottom metal thing on the PC, but do I have to tighten something once it's on? The DA came with a wrench, and I am not exactly sure what I want to loosen or tight. If anyone could help me out, that would be great. I had a hard time figuring out from the instructions what I am suppose to do.

Its hard to explain but simple to do..

Also, a quick question about taping certain parts on the car prior to detailing it. Can I use the Meguiars DA without taping if I am careful? I also don't have rubber trim pieces around the windows. Instead, I have chrome stuff. I was going to use the PC up to about an inch or two from where the chrome piece is and then just do that little gap by hand. What are your thoughts on that?

Screw the BP into the spindle and use the wrench to tighten the spindle . . . It explains it in the user's manual.

If your careful, its not a problem. And if you get some product where you dont want it, just wipe it off right away. Dont worry about the chrome areas, a little polish never hurt anything.

I had the same problem! It took me a half hour to figure it out and there was no mention of it in the PC manual!

THANK YOU! I could NOT find a detailed explanation of how to do it either. Oh well, I finally figure it out. I am glad that I am not the only one that experienced this problem!
